Another reason Krista eats on the counter. Because she would also pick it up and go to the carpet.
 Don’t you think that’s odd? What’s the attraction? The other two don’t do it. But Iris is a calico and quirky. And cute. Gotta love the little weirdos. I’m sure it makes sense to them.

From the piggy noises that Diamond makes when he is eating, you would think there would be a mess! But rarely is there food on the floor. Sometimes I will pet him while he eats just so I can laugh at those piggy noises! Silent laugh, of course! Kitties can be so sensitive.
I am glad to know I am not the only one whose cat masquerades as a piglet! Melody makes these grunt-oink sounds when I give her a couple of treats when I get home; makes me giggle every time!

Fresca will occasionally pick up a chunk of food in her mouth then drop it on the floor next to her bowl and eat it. No idea why she does this and it's not all the time. At least it's easy to clean up since it's a tile floor, I just spray it with a bleach solution and wipe it up.

I feed the cats on tile floors (in three different rooms because they eat at three different speeds...sigh), and Iris will pick up a mouthful of food and walk three feet to a rug and spit the sloppy mess out. She eats it all (mostly) so she's not really a slob, but why in the world does she want to eat her food from a fuzzy surface?? I've asked her. No answer. :dunno:
My late border collie dog did that, it drove me nuts! He had one specific place on the living room carpet that was his dinner plate...he would carry his food from the kitchen mouthful by mouthful, spit it out onto the carpet, and then eat. I got so sick of stepping on dry kibble in the night!
The odd thing is, when he got old and started suffering from cognitive dysfunction (senility) and incontinence, he would always go and pee on that spot. He was an oddball. I miss him terribly.
