The way i stopped my cat was with a bottle of spray water, and when you catch him tearing into your furniture, then give him a quick scoosh! Its a great way to keep them fit, as they always run a mile, and it only took my a couple of regular scoosh's and then one every so often, and now he never...

I find that my cat doesn't notice if i put it in the microwave for a few seconds. Then again, it might just be that he see's everything that comes out of the microwave I usually eat, so he assumes its ok.

A momma cat wont attack you for touching her babes, as long as your'e gentle with them, it's fine to touch them. Obviously as they grow in the ensuing weeks they will be more active, so socialising is important and getting them used to being held and picked up for when they are to be rehomed.
