If you've seen a few of my previous posts about Dunlop, he was my sweet baby Tabby that unexpectedly passed away from FeLV anemia. He went downhill in the week between diagnosis and when he refused syringed food and water. There's a lot of stuff we didn't know, so I have to try and NOT blame...
I had made a post on this forum about my oldest cat, Dunlop, last week. I had mentioned he'd tested positive for FeLV and this was ruled as the cause of the anemia and had been looking for treatment tips.
I wanted to update and say that Dunlop declined rapidly and crossed the rainbow bridge...
I don't have any answers, but just wanted to say I'm sorry for what you're going through. One of my cats unexpectedly tested positive today so I'm trying to find out similar things.
We have a multi cat household. Our original boy, Dunlop, was adopted as a stray outdoors in 2015. When we adopted him, he was tested for FELV, FIV, full blood test - all came back healthy. The feline leukaemia test was negative so he's had the vaccine, in addition to all the other normal stuff...
Yes, he's totally fixed. He's a shelter rescue, but they told us he was fixed as soon as he was able to.. I've put plants in the yard, but we have a ton of deer in our area that eat them. I live in Canada, so our winter is too cold for plants to bloom all year round.
Do you have a spray you'd...
One of my cats occasionally sprays because of Toms coming into the yard. I've taken all the steps that I can to prevent them from coming around, but the way my house and yard is built means it's impossible to keep them out completely. My alpha cat, Donatello, has sprayed somewhere in the house...
Hey, I'm back again. I'm in need of advice. I have a few questions about spraying, and for those of you who live with a cat that sprays regularly, how do you keep your house clean, your sanity, and keep your spouse from threatening to re-home the cat.
My neutered cat Donatello started randomly...
Thanks everyone! I did some investigating and watched the yard. I caught one of the cats spraying our tree, which is directly downwind from the kitchen window. So he probably got a wiff of that and marked his territory by spraying the coffee maker. Seems like there's also old spray on our deck...
Unfortunately there isn’t. I’ve tried shooing them away and seeing if they had collars, but no luck. They scale the fence and deck too!
I have tried Feliway. I have two stress relief diffusers. They didn’t make a noticeable difference with him, but Cocoa loves the pheromones. He responds well...
My beautiful, neutered, very dominant and alpha rescue cat, Donatello, has recently started spraying. We’ve had him for 3 years without any pee problems before this.
A few months ago, I noticed somebody had sprayed the side of my large Mac. (It’s by my office window) I cleaned my computer with...
Here's a holiday update for everyone since it's been a bit :)
It seems like we have two social circles right now. Donatello and Dunlop in one group, Dunlop and Cocoa in the other. I'm happy to report that they mostly tolerate each other now, unless Dunlop is hangry. Cocoa has really grown and...
Another update:
Dunlop and Cocoa are definitely getting better with each other. Cocoa's not really scared of being on the floor with him anymore, and they'll walk by each other with no problems. Cocoa still skids away if Dunlop stares at him too much. He's actually following Dunlop around like...
Check it out! The boys tolerated Cocoa helping me with the laundry today. A few months ago he would have been chased away (and this is why I can never get the laundry folded lol)
