Getting A Semi Wild Cat To Toilet

Update! Time for an update. Mumma cat never learnt to be good with toileting but she did get desexed (i even managed to get her into a large carrier and the vets managed to put her under anesthetic without needing to net her). The kittens have gone up for adoption at the rescue i work for and...

Getting A Semi Wild Cat To Toilet

Well, found a cat poo on the carpet mat (well actually she'd lifted it so it was in between two pieces) and not in the box! -sigh-

Help! Feral Cat Mother And Newborn Kittens

I currently have a semi-wild mumma cat with two kittens who were 4 days old when i was called out to them. There was a third kitten but mum (i assume) had half eaten it. 1) I made the mistake of trying to net the mother as she hadn't gone in the trap and missed. Result was she moved the...

Getting A Semi Wild Cat To Toilet

Also for the vets I'm thinking the best option is to put mumma into the smallest size dog crate you can buy (loan from work) so that hopefully they can sedate her this way and then when she's had her operation they could put her back into it before she wakes up. It's going to be very stressful...

Getting A Semi Wild Cat To Toilet

Well the sand didn't work. I thought she peed in it once but that could of been one of the kittens. The kittens were copying mother's bad habits so I have put a play pen around them (much to mum's horror) and now the kittens are toileting correctly. Mum still jumps the play pen and goes in her...

Is It Normal For Mother Cats To Still Eat Kitten Poop At 5 Weeks Old?

She is a very good mumma, she growls all the time which I can't decide is because she's got kittens or because she's semi-wild. I am keeping her and one of her babies that has bonded to me. She cuddles them which is very cute.

    Should I Let Him Outside?

Since it's attached to your room id let him access that as a next step and then make sure your bed legs are off so it can't get stuck under if possible Shut wardrobes Block off other hiding spots ie id remove a couch if there happened to be one in your room etc Keep his box/safe place. Make...

    Fearful But Not Fearful,, Why?

Any kitten of that age will adjust and just needs to get used to many new sounds etc. Personally I think this is too young for it to of been taken from its mother unless there was some reason why it was necessary. I would give him a smaller area. It could be a crate in the lounge so he can...

Is It Normal For Mother Cats To Still Eat Kitten Poop At 5 Weeks Old?

The kittens are using the dirt box now so I was surprised and really grossed out when I watched mumma cat cleaning her and eating the biggest turd. It had to land on the blanket and she kept eating it and in the end I cleaned up the remainder. Was a vomit worthy moment!
