How much do you spend on wet cat food?

I'm a bit late to this but I only spend about $16 on a month of wet food. I feed my cat Friskies which is cheap and she is an 11 year old female that isn't super active or growing anymore so she only eats 1 can a day. I get the 32 can case of pate for $15 and some change each month.

Chewy Website Is Not All It's Cut Out To Be!

I ordered from there a couple times but it hasn't been worth it for me either. I only have 1 cat so it's easier to just buy a case of food at the store when I'm there than to order online. I have to buy a variety of cases or month's worth of food at once to reach the minimum for free shipping...

    Offering Wet Food Occasionally

I have a very tight budget and manage to feed my cat all wet for under $15 a month. I am in the US though so I know that's not possible everywhere. I avoid corn, wheat and soy but nothing else really. I like to see meat as the 1st ingredient but I am ok with it being in the form of by-products...

    Indoor Cats' Diet

My cat thrives on Friskies pate! Nothing wrong with it IMO. Like PP said, just be careful with leaving dry out because it can lead to weight gain. My cat is the type that will scarf down anything I put in front of her in like 10 seconds flat! We've tried a variety of feeding schedules and...

All Wet Food Diet Questions. How Much & Type?

    Wetter Canned Food

Dave's cat food pates are extremely soft! You can't cut them the way you can with other pates...you have to scoop with a spoon!

Why Does Everybody Hate Dry Cat Food?

My cat personally does better on wet. I don't hate dry but a free feeding diet led to my cat being overweight. Dry food makes her coat super dry and she sheds like crazy. Wet food for her = less shedding, shiny coat, weight loss and more energy! From what I have heard, dry food helping with...

How Terrible Is Friskies Chicken Pate?

My cat eats almost exclusively Friskies pates and does well on them! I don't see much difference between Friskies and FF... the big thing is just that FF is 100% grain free while Friskies has a bit of rice. It is not a lot so I personally don't have a problem with it and can't justify the fact...

    Portions For A Fat Kitty

It would be helpful to know an exact weight. I weigh my cat on a home scale by weighing myself holding her and then weighing myself alone and subtracting the difference. A 10lb adult male cat shouldn't be chunky, at 15lbs...maybe. If he is actually overweight, then 1 can a day is probably too...

Not Adding Water To Wet Food..?

I don't add water to wet food. My cat has a bowl of water available and she drinks when she really needs it. I give her dry food on rare occasions that I am not home for a wet meal... Last time I gave her dry, I came back and she had downed her whole bowl of water! Shows you how much she NEEDS...

    Affordable But Still Good Options?

I feed Friskies or Fancy Feast pate because my budget is SUPER tight. They are low carb and she does great on them. If you can go more expensive than that but not Weruva kind of price... Merrick, Dave's, Whole Earth Farms and ProPlan True Nature are all "middle of the road".

Does Anyone Else Feed No Dry Food?

My cat rarely gets dry food. We feed 2 wet food meals a day. The only time she gets dry is if we can't give a scheduled wet meal for some reason like if we aren't going to be home, we leave dry out before we go. That's maybe once a month. We also don't do treats. I just never found one she...

    Obese Cat, Need Help!

There is nothing wrong with Friskies wet food if she feeds the pate. I agree their dry is full of carbs and stuff cats do not need though. When I first joined this board a year ago, my cat was overweight at about 17lbs. She is now a healthy 11.5lbs! My first step was to switch her carb-heavy...

    Pet Food Labels

It's kind of personal choice. Corn, wheat and soy are deal breakers for me. I look for meat (even if it's by-products) as the 1st ingredient. I look for low CARB, not necessarily grain free. A lot of grain free foods just use a ton of peas or potatoes in the place of rice and such. Not any...
