Here’s and update: This morning ate a bit of watered down A/D (that vet food that is designed to get recovering animals eating again). I did the pinch test and his skin went back quite quickly, so I don’t think he’s dehydrated. He hasn’t vomited since last night when I posted this.
This morning...
Hi everyone! Thanks for all the helpful advice in integrating Georgie with Lulu and Mimi. It was super helpful, and I’m hoping the hive mind can give me more guidance about Georgie. This morning he was absolutely fine, playing and being his normal self. I left for work at 10:45, and when I got...
Georgie (6months) keeps pouncing on my older ladies (ages 7 & 8) in play. How do I stop this? Spray bottle? Can of coins? Do I need to? They don’t really appreciate it and they tell him, but he is relentless. I’m trying my best to tire him out, but he’s so full of beans right now!
So we’ve had Georgie for almost 4 weeks now. I followed all the steps of cat introductions and I think it’s going well. Lulu and Georgie are fine, however, Mimi is still growling and hissing a bit at him when he comes near. They seem to be ok together when I am using Da Bird and taking turns...
I’m intrigued by Dr.Elsey’s cat food...I’ve never heard of it, and I don’t think I can get it in Canada - I’ve only seen the litter. I’ll check out chewy, although I wonder if the shipping would be exhorbitant. Would you all say that your kitties preferred it over most brands? If so, I would...
They do get wet food - generally one of the First Mate flavours - it’s a nice meaty pate and they all love it. They get the wet at set times and are free fed a kibble. I’m looking for a better quality kibble because when we got the new kitten, he came with a bag of Royal Canin spay & neuter...
Thanks all, for the feedback! You’ve all been super helpful and I appreciate it!
Is it ok if the kitten tries to pounce on the older ones in play and if they put him in his place? There is no aggressive behaviour (no claws, drawing blood, etc) but they definitely tell him they don’t like it...
Well, his previous owner was diagnosed with an terminal illness and given a very short time to live. They were devastated and wanted to find a happy home for him. I heard this story at my hair appointment and just felt exercised to help. I called my hubby, he said yes, and then I went straight...
I made sure to open up all the doors so there were lots of ways to escape, but Mimi went to her usual spot and Georgie left the area. I feel pretty positive about the way it went down - I’m glad it was Mimi who chose to initiate (rather than me putting them together before she might have been...
So Mimi has hopped the gate twice. She’s the one who I was being extra careful introducing the kitten to - can I take this to mean that she wants to meet him and it’s time to let them interact face to face? We’ve had several days of through the gate sniffing and being fed highly desirable meals...
