Now that spring is coming ( yes it is coming) all the little creatures are coming out more and my girl is going mad. She races around the apartment window to window meowing at me when she sees any of them.
Anyone else have their kitties(indoor or outdoor) getting all hyped up over the spring...
I was horrified to learn recently of a co-worker who put a collar around her cat with a laser pointer on it. Apparently everywhere the cat goes there is a little red dot in front of it and it keeps trying to get the dot. She thinks it's hilarious. I think it's torturous and suggested she try...
I live in a small one bedroom apartment and my girl does this too. I'm very very embarrassed to say I didn't respond well at first. I completely lost my temper but afterwards I felt so bad I cried apologizing to her.
I learned and I still am learning how to handle this situation. My advice is...
While I'm sure there are others here who have more concise and experienced advice then I do I would like to offer my own which you can possibly extrapolate to your situation. I adopted Lily about two months ago and she's a fairly skittish cat that I've been learning to adapt to myself.

She will sit at the corner watching me when she knows I usually get up and if I move to look at my clock she's right there poking her cold nose at my face. That doesn't work then she stands over me and meows and if that doesn't work she walks on me and goes right for my toes biting at them. If...
I have no idea what Lily does but I have my computer in the living room so I should turn my webcam on record just to see what she does while I'm gone. Part of me sort of hopes she's sitting on the chair by the door waiting for me but realistically she's probably sleeping on my bed.
At first when I got my girl she never made much noise and I thought maybe she was sick or something. Now she never shuts up especially at 2 am when I have to be at work for 6 am and she thinks it's playtime. "Oh you're asleep well let me sit on your head and meow continuously" silly kitty
I think it's the name we chose Stephie, my Lily is like this too, she runs around the house like a mad cat until I break out the toys and then she's like "Eh, I'm good"
Maybe I should name her "Eloise" :P
It sounds to me like you're anxious, you don't want to mess up raising your cat and you're concerned about what to do. This is a good thing I believe and it sounds to me like you're on the road to having a happy contented kitty.
