This kitten was adopted out and then rehomed again without the knowledge of the rescue. His eyes were clear at the time of adoption, but we have no way of getting an update. I wonder now, if it was early ocular FIP, though. I wish I had way to find out his outcome.
Does anyone have any experience with using serum from a naturally immune (panleuk survivor) donor cat to help a cat or kitten recover from the disease.
We received a DOA mama and three living neonates a few days ago. The cause of the queen’s death was unknown, but she had stopped eating and had...
The vet said he doesn’t know. He’s going to call a veterinary ophthalmologist but doesn’t expect a call back. I need to discuss further care with the rest of the board.
He’s prescribed an antibiotic eye ointment for now, and wants me to let him know if anything changes. He will call back if he...
Ok, well the next available appointment is on Friday. Hopefully he doesn’t deteriorate in that time. This is a very rural area and we don’t have emergency vets or walk in clinics, either. The most they do without an appointment is walk in/emergency euthanasia.
One of our foster kittens, Jasper, has developed cloudy pupils with fuzzy edges in the last few days. We are going to make a vet appointment tomorrow (Monday) but I was curious if anyone had seen this before in kittens? I’ve read some unsettling info about this being potentially related to FIP...
I’ll be moving to an area with a severely underfunded shelter soon. They do their best but right now is tough. COVID makes it harder. There’s a cat hoarding situation in town that is getting more and more out of hand, with the shelter refusing to take the cats unless they’re quarantined for two...
Yes it’s just to the right of his nose. On his left side. It was there for quite a while before I realized it wasn’t just pigmentation unfortunately. He hates his face being touched. Several years most likely, and when I noticed it was getting bigger I was concerned.
It’s now too deep to fully...
My cat Zephyrus had something similar. A scab formed and falls off endlessly. It got bigger as time went on. We got it biopsied and it was squamous cell carcinoma. A punch biopsy may remove it entirely and indicate the cause. Early removal is crucial, before it gets too deep. I highly recommend...
Well, the lowered does of prozac has her eating again, although not as much as I'd like. She seems really into fish-flavored food right now, which I don't usually feed, but hey, if she'll eat it, she gets it.
Her mood has already improved a little. Instead of keeper to her crate she wants to...
