Our driveway was a sheet of ice when I went out this morning. 33F right now. We're supposed to get freezing rain with a mix of snow overnight and there's a Winter Weather Advisory for tomorrow.

We had freezing rain today, and it was so bad that I was hearing stories that cars were in the ditch and a semi went on its side, kind of in a city close to ours. I was so scared to go in because I have a three month old too, because we go to I work at a daycare, I asked if I could go in later and they said sure but I was so nervous about driving in that they called me later and said I didn’t have to go in but it was super icy out

Wisest thing to do is stay home when streets are icy

Oh ya, we got it big time. I heard about all these accidents on the news. And like an idiot I went to the gym this morning anyway but drove very slowly. When I got there the parking lot was covered in ice. I wore good boots with treads, probably should have worn ice skates instead. I took 2 steps and started to slide. That was it for me, I got back in my car and went home.

Haven't had to turn the heater on in the pumphouse for about a week. It's been overcast for a few days. Feels like a nice beautiful spring day....except it's January. Should be in the single digits (at night) with snow.

Currently 37F but the fog today was horrendous especially in the early morning when I was out. I could barely make out the traffic light(s) which was scary. Glad when I finally reached my destination.

37F with fog but nowhere near as foggy as it was Thursday. We're getting a warm up this week which will be a nice change.

It was a beautiful day with temps that got up to 40F and sunshine.

My sis in Alaska said it was -35 yesterday. Now 15. Houstonon it's in the 70s

26C here at present and due to go up another ten degrees in a couple of hours. Mercifully the rest of the week is supposed to be back down to about 20.

Mercy be, we didn't get near the predicted 36C! It peaked at about 28.

Is anyone else's winter weird this year?
We had a super late start to winter, having our first storm only in January. Have only had 2 snow events...and a lot of it has melted at this point. We are usually experiencing a deep freeze by now with temps going as low as -40 with wind chill, but it's currently -1, warm and sunny. Our lakes are not as safe for outdoor activities...many accounts of people falling thru the ice. I think we've had maybe 5 days of -20 overnight temps...
This whole winter has just been weird.

I also think we've had a weird winter this year so you aren't alone.

We've only had a week or so of total snow accumulation which is then melted away by rain or warmer weather. It seems we've had more rain than snow this season.

Today it's 48F out and sunny and it's so nice to see the sun. We've actually had a string of sunny days and the weather is supposed to be in the upper 40's to mid 50's this coming Wednesday and Thursday.
