I leave April 31. One thing I've started doing is leaving the screen door open when I'm in the bedroom and the other cats go in and out but I keep an eye on Newman and if he looks like he's up to no good I run him out.

You still have 3 full months- alot can change in all that time- so you just might have a nice breakthrough by then- let's stay hopeful on the time line.... but if not it will still be alright, take each day as it comes 💞

I got Comfort Zone collars for Newman and Tommy. If they work I'll get one for Robbie too. I also have diffusers all over the house.

Many people seem to like them,I found no significant difference in behavior( but the Comfort Zone and Relaxivet spray- definite thumbs up from me)
I thought the Feliway diffusers might have had something to do with my Maxs eye irritations,I don't know but Ive thrown them all out- my Graycie had a persistent cough that started about the time I got the diffusers and Maxs eye problems started same time- it was the only thing different I started using( may or may not be related but after 2 of my 5 having symptoms from an unknown irritant - well it was Feliway I suspected and I just don't want to use any diffusers in my own home.....

They(Feliway )say they don't use essential oils yet other researchers say ALL diffusers use essential oils....Im just too skeptical to take any chances( sprays seem to only be pheramone with non toxic inactive ingredients) problem is you've got to walk around spraying quite often...... Anyway, thought I'd mention it so that you might want to do your own research on diffuser products

Hahaha ... it started out as a 3 week trip, then kept getting longer since the child couldn't go to school then anyhow. I love those kitties a lot since they started out as my bottle-fed fosters.
I need a poolcat nearby,lol ❤

Just want to say thanks for this suggestion on Relaxivet, just ordered a bottle. I am using Feliway Diffusors but the first day I plugged it in I immediately got an oil substance on my hand as I wanted to move it to a different location. Was a bit confused as it seemed like a good amount as well. It wasn't as thick as you'd expect from normal oils but it definitely wasn't any kind of water-like substance. I'm likely going to remove them, as I get the spray tomorrow.

I'm not an internet person though I'd be curious to hear folks "negative " reviews,I've got a hunch they may share similar experiences to mine and like I said, there's nothing to confirm that Feliway diffusers irritated 2 of my cats but when I asked my own Vet and told him of my suspicions he recommended I not use any type of diffusers, plug ins or otherwise -good enough for me

I've had good results with that Relaxivet pump spray,it's not aerosol - seems no one squints or coughs so there ya have it

I'd be interested to know what you think after you try it- might be good for G grawmmawmoses to spray on that mesh screen.....

Will definitely update here with what I find, but Litto has a vet visit is tomorrow so she'll probably feel a bit lethargic since I have to give her a sedative, so it likely wont affect her too much tomorrow. Still will give it a try and report back!

I've used Feliway diffusers a couple of times. Never noticed any adverse effects, but I can't say that they helped either. The first time the thing smoked and carried on so much, I wrote them off for several years. Then decided I might have plugged it in upside down, so I gave them another try when I had a couple of cats giving each other the stink eye. This time it left a long black oily streak on the wall above the outlet, so I moved it into a large metal can with an extension cord so it could sit in the middle of the room. It still made me nervous, though, so I haven't used them since then. I do like the spray version, though.

I think you can make it. Stay as calm as you can as cats can sense our feelings. If we feel uneasy, they feel it too and it makes it harder to do things as they are not calmed down.

You want a smooth transition and not a panicky one so breathe slowly, be calm and help them.

The diffusers leave oil stains on walls too.
That cannot be good for cats- compounds like ketones, phenols and terpenes and other chemicals just cannot be metabolized by cats liver- they do not have the enzymes we do to process and eliminate---, so the risk of toxic accumulation seems great imo

The more I hear of oil streaks, leaks and stains the more convinced I am not to use these " cat safe" products

'Just caught this conversation now by chance.

You know, there have been accounts of people unknowingly receiving cheap 'knockoffs' of brand-name goods.....simply by ordering from swindling/scamming operations, posing as legitimate/authorized selling agents. I wonder if that's what has been 'behind' some of the experiences related here.

IF that's the case, then shopping for best price needs to be supplemented with some verification process guaranteeing the seller's authenticity....to eliminate any opportunity for fraud. Has anyone who's experienced these unwelcome experiences contacted the manufacturer?

Has anyone attempted to return these things?

I'll stop here because I have zero experience with either the products nor even online purchasing.

I've not called Ceva though I thought about it - I didn't bother becsuse I don't have any real evidence that Feliway is the irritant in my home causing the symptoms I described

I purchased from us.feliway the first time,2nd time from Chewy

Just wanted to report back about the Relaxivet. I feel like it definitely worked better than the feliway, although more so with my two boys rather than the new adopted girl. Shes extremely skittish and obviously has some past trauma/baggage. Still, I feel she was at least a bit better. The boys didnt seem to try to be as in her face as usual, which was definitely needed as well.

Definitely! As another tip, I'd recommend at least two bottles at first, because you were right, you do have to do a respray every once in a while. While I'm not running low by any means, I can see this going by fast if I plan to use it every time I let them have some face to face time.
