Dheeksha dear, you should tell your Mom to take your cat to a good vet right away. Try calling Dr Harish‘s 24 hour hospital. I read his reviews. Caring and compassionate Vet. Your poor cat is in critical condition. He will not make it. He is in pain. You can not fix him with herbal or home treatments.

Diazepam is along the same lines as prazosin. Should produce similar results, including side effects like drowsiness and so forth.
Is it ok if they sedate him again today?

Yes, it's likely all right. They will likely need to sedate him to treat him.

The most important thing is to be at a vet office or emergency vet hospital when they open. They must treat him as he is in critical condition. Be clear about how the cat has deteriorated over the weekend and that this is an emergency. You don't need any pressure from us! Rooting for the both of you. :)

The drops you are giving him are likely not very long term, and I suspect the anesthesia he received before is out of his system. But, if you don't want to have him get more anesthesia, what would you do otherwise?
I thought of asking the vet to give him light sedation.

The vet took an x-ray and removed some urine from the urinary bladder directly with a syringe. He placed a catheter and tried to flush saline into it. There was obstruction. That fellow told me to check if there are any drops coming out and asked me to come tomorrow. I said i won't go until he pees on his own.

Meanwhile, another vet who regularly sees my cats came and checked him. He tried to catheter him but the tube is not going inside. He immediately took the cat to the operation theatre and performed bladder surgery to him. He said the urinary bladder has expanded and there was so much blood in the urine. He also said the bladder became black. He had blood loss and there was some damage to the bladder. The vet said he is at risk for 2-3 days and it takes some time for the bladder to get healed. Placed a catheter and told me to not remove for 3 days. And wear a diaper to him so that he can't remove it. He told me to bring him for another 3 days continuously for iv fluids.

Ok, that's at least good to hear that his regular vet is attending to him and did a surgery on his bladder something is finally done rather than leaving the matter hanging.

We are here with you and your cat and we hope for a speedy recovery for your cat.

Dear kitty, please

I am so glad you got to the vet in time!! The vet who did the operation sounds wonderful!! I'm so happy that he took the severity of the situation seriously.

I'm glad the vets decided to open their clinics in time. We all know you were ready to take him in all night long. I hope you can find a vet who is really open 24 hours a day and is actually available during all hours, rather than only so in advertising.

So glad the vet was able to empty his bladder and help your cat. By any chance, did they offer any pain meds to help him feel more comfortable?

You were so assertive with the first vet and such a great advocate for your cat. Woo hoo!
