Let's see, I don't hate Cheese cake, but I prefer Sweet cheese cake (like Entemann's French Cheese cake), I don't like desserts that leave stains on your teeth like Blueberry and Cherry Pie. I am not a big fan of carrot cake or any cakes that uses vegetable ingredients. I tried Mince Meat pie and it really wasn't my cup of tea. Otherwise, I like most desserts. I have a big sweet tooth.😋🥰

Am I the only one who likes ambrosia? Then again, we never made it with sour cream or cottage cheese, it was just jello, whipped cream, and canned fruit cocktail with the juice used instead of water for the jello.

It wouldn’t surprise me! I could eat it if I had to, though. There are several things that people have named that I don’t care for and avoid—unless I’m at someone’s home and I don’t know them well—but the one I positively loathe is anything with coconut. 🤢

I absolutely detest fruitcake. Whenever someone tries to give it to me for the holidays I run. :running:
My mother made fruitcakes that were actually pretty good. When she got older, and especially after my father died, there was no money for the ingredients. Michele and I started buying the necessaries for her, as it gave her something to do, and something to look forward to each year. She passed in 2008, and I still miss those fruitcakes.

Yeah that's probably it. I could stand it with just the other ingredients, but that's an egregious misuse of cottage cheese! The texture. . . :cringe:
My family makes something similar, but it's strawberry jello, frozen strawberries, whipped cream and tapioca. It normally calls for cottage cheese, but the texture isn't right for it, so someone used tapioca instead and it is by far one of my favorite things at family get togethers.

My least favorite dessert would be oatmeal raisin cookies. I'll eat them if I have to, but I won't enjoy it. Also anything with ginger. I hate the taste of ginger.

That sounds ok, especially with real whipped cream. I wouldn't even mind sour cream (it's basically higher-fat unsweetened yogurt). But the cottage cheese. . .or mayo. . .nuts. . .little marshmallows (I like them fine in hot chocolate but cold marshmallows are a nope for me). . .maraschino cherries. . .bleh.

Oh no...you're not alone. There are several of those kinds of "old lady" salads out there, and I pretty much like them all.My favorite though is the watergate salad with pistachio pudding, pineapple, cool whip and pecans.
