who here loves the harry potter series ? do you have an actor/actress that really inspired you ?
im hufflepuff ... and you ?strider rose what's your Hogwarts house?
Hufflepuff as well!im hufflepuff ... and you ?
Me, too! The movies were pretty good, but they lacked so many things, like Peeves, S.P.E.W., Rita Skeeter being an Animagus, and Winky. That being said, they did better than other adaptions of books that I've seen.I prefer the books to the movies!
I love Crookshanks! He's such an overlooked animal, I feel Like, but he's the best.Crookshanks is the best cat in children's literature, probably.
I've heard that the first two were more intended to be children's books, so perhaps that's why? I don't know if that's true or not, thoughI am a Ravenclaw married to a Hufflepuff. I did not get into the movies or books until "The Prisoner of Azkaban." I still do not like the first two books or movies very much. I was always on Snape's side. I swore from the beginning that he was not evil.
The PoA movie really dropped the ball in explaining the Marauder's Map and the whole relationship between Remus, Sirius and Peter. If I recall, my dad came to see the movie with us and hadn't read the book and was a bit confused with how it all went down.Me, too! The movies were pretty good, but they lacked so many things, like Peeves, S.P.E.W., Rita Skeeter being an Animagus, and Winky. That being said, they did better than other adaptions of books that I've seen.
I’m old enough to enjoy fairy tales. My Dear Lucy,
I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realized that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. You can then take it down from some upper shelf, dust it, and tell me what you think of it. I shall probably be too deaf to hear, and too old to understand a word you say but I shall still be
your affectionate Godfather
I've always loved that, too! Plus I thought it was cool that he named his character Lucy after his Goddaughter. Narnia is such a good series; C.S. Lewis is wonderful.I love the books (slightly) more than the movies, as well.
Back when they were first coming out I heard that in Britain, people would go into a bookstore to buy the latest Harry Potter book and carefully explain to the clerk that it was for a nephew or niece, because they didn’t want to admit that they were reading a “children’s” book for pleasure. I, on the other hand, have always held to the view of C. S. Lewis, expressed in his dedication at the beginning of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe:
My best friend is a Slytherin and I kind of hate the stereotype that all Slytherins are evil or that all Hufflepuff's are goody-two-shoes lol.im hufflepuff married to a slytherin lol
You should go for it! You might enjoy it more than you're expecting toI've never read a HP book but I think I will give it a shot
Aw, glad that worked out! I love Sirius (and all of the Marauders, especially Lupin).I was late getting into the HP books, but that worked out well, as once I was caught up, I didn't have to wait too long for last couple to be released. I liked the first 2, but got hooked with PoA, and the character Sirius Black.
