I love Harry Potter!
I suppose Evanna Lynch inspired me. Her story is really cool.
Not an actor that inspired me, but I love Cedric Diggory! He's my favorite character :)

Me too (plus Luna, Tonks, and Cedric.) I love Snape and "always" have. Are you a fan of the books as well?

I thought the books were a kid's series, but my sister said you HAVE to read them. I didn't really want to, but when I got home from visiting with her, I found she had snuck all the books up to that point in my suitcase. So I started reading, and couldn't put them\=/down.One of my all time favorite series. I thought the movies were really well done and true to the books, and they picked perfect actors for all of the characters. I haven't read the books, or watched in the movies in some time, though, so I couldn't idenify who might have been my favorite character.

I am a Ravenclaw married to a Hufflepuff. I did not get into the movies or books until "The Prisoner of Azkaban." I still do not like the first two books or movies very much. I was always on Snape's side. I swore from the beginning that he was not evil.

I prefer the books to the movies!
Me, too! The movies were pretty good, but they lacked so many things, like Peeves, S.P.E.W., Rita Skeeter being an Animagus, and Winky. That being said, they did better than other adaptions of books that I've seen.
Crookshanks is the best cat in children's literature, probably.
I love Crookshanks! He's such an overlooked animal, I feel Like, but he's the best.

I've heard that the first two were more intended to be children's books, so perhaps that's why? I don't know if that's true or not, though

The PoA movie really dropped the ball in explaining the Marauder's Map and the whole relationship between Remus, Sirius and Peter. If I recall, my dad came to see the movie with us and hadn't read the book and was a bit confused with how it all went down.

But yeah, definitely not the worst book to movie adaptations and obviously they couldn't get everything in, but I'd choose the books over the movies any day of the week.

I love the books (slightly) more than the movies, as well.

Back when they were first coming out I heard that in Britain, people would go into a bookstore to buy the latest Harry Potter book and carefully explain to the clerk that it was for a nephew or niece, because they didn’t want to admit that they were reading a “children’s” book for pleasure. I, on the other hand, have always held to the view of C. S. Lewis, expressed in his dedication at the beginning of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe:

My Dear Lucy,
I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realized that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. You can then take it down from some upper shelf, dust it, and tell me what you think of it. I shall probably be too deaf to hear, and too old to understand a word you say but I shall still be
your affectionate Godfather
I’m old enough to enjoy fairy tales.

I was late getting into the HP books, but that worked out well, as once I was caught up, I didn't have to wait too long for last couple to be released. I liked the first 2, but got hooked with PoA, and the character Sirius Black.

I'd consider myself Ravenclaw. My husband probably is the same!

I've always loved that, too! Plus I thought it was cool that he named his character Lucy after his Goddaughter. Narnia is such a good series; C.S. Lewis is wonderful.
im hufflepuff married to a slytherin lol
My best friend is a Slytherin and I kind of hate the stereotype that all Slytherins are evil or that all Hufflepuff's are goody-two-shoes lol.
I've never read a HP book but I think I will give it a shot
You should go for it! You might enjoy it more than you're expecting to :)

Aw, glad that worked out! I love Sirius (and all of the Marauders, especially Lupin).
