Just got a call from my mom. My brother got into a car accident and is heading to the hospital. I can't leave my hellhole of a job because as usual we are under staffed and I was told no one could cover for me.

According to my brother he is fine, but I wish I could be there like all my other family. I want to quit just to say F you to this company but I'm not in a position to do so. This place needs to burn to the ground.

I would take my beloved cats' safety very seriously. If he doesn't, I would have to act pre-emptively to make sure they are safe. That's all I'm saying. Doesn't sound like he'll take signs very seriously, from what you're saying. May your cats be safe!
I trust he will listen with reminders. He probably won't be working out for a bit anyway after this car accident.

Hoping his injuries are not significant and that he will heal soon and well (and that he has good coverage).
I empathize SO much on the work situation--so many people are in this position now. But you need the job. So I hope it doesn't do that.

Thanks :) From the jibberish my mom wrote I'm assuming she said he should have gotten worse injuries than he did based on how fast he was going. Hopefully he will stop speeding after this.

I'm going to look for a new job every day until I find one. I'm so tired of this place. There is only four people left and one is leaving. I'd hate to add more work to my coworker (my manager and boss can go screw themselves) but I just can't take this anymore.

I hope so, too. People do that here, a lot. We finally got speed bumps on our street. It's helping. But this city is notorious for rude drivers that speed.
Been there, done that. Hope you can find something better soon. The job market bites and so does the work atmosphere in too many cases.

Does anyone understand what I mean when I say... "I hate school but I love the work I'm doing."

There is just too much homework and I haven't slept well in weeks. I'm not eating right either (skipping meals or stress eating junk food). Trying really hard to stay on top of things but assignments are starting to slip and I'm not doing great. If there was any other way to obtain the knowledge I need to get this degree without wasting away as a human being to get it, I'd do that instead.

I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. This is exactly what I was afraid of when I decided to go to college again. But I've never had this much work to do from my past 2 programs. It's always been fair and manageable. But with this college, the deadlines are so strict and they give you little to no wiggle room - stating that when we are working professionally, this is what it will be like so therefore, we have to start from now.

Everyone is always in a hurry. People get grouchy with me for driving the speed limit listed.

Yeah, I'm hoping I can leave this place this year. I don't want to go into 2020 still working here.

So I grabbed him and pulled hard, his nails scraping and sticking into everything he could get them into until he was out.
This reminds me of when Demi was out in the garage. He jumped up on the car, then up into the rafters of the garage. I don't even know what's up there. He's not allowed out there anymore though.

I always hated homework in high school. It cut into too much of my regular life. Please make sure you eat some food every single day. You don't want to end up like me.

I hate rap and Drake is one of the worst. I'm not saying he's a bad singer, just really foul mouthed rap.
This means I am wrong though, he's not a white supremacist. What self respecting Neo Nazi would listen to a black singer? lol
A lot of wanna-be punks around here. They use the n-word and listen to black rap. I don't get it.

Depends on where you live. I could build a hut in my front yard and live in it and the county wouldn't even care.

Just make sure it's easy to take down in case the hot water heater leaks.
Same where I live. My distant neighbors lived in a trailer house with no electricity, no running water and a blanket for a front door. Now they live in a travel trailer with no electricity or running water.

Both places were heated with a wood stove with single wall chimney.

Oh I am so out of step, at this time my favorite is Enya, the Irish singer/composer, i cannot stop listening to Carabbean Blue or Orinoco Flow or her version of I dreamt of Being in Marble Halls.
If that means you're out of step, then at least we're dancing together! I LOVE Enya!

Have you ever met someone, a total stranger, and for some reason, the two of you click really well? As if your auras do a tango in the cosmos, synchronizing. And your souls, million of years drifting through time and space were always meant to meet at that exactly moment? So, when you finally lay eyes on each other, it's as if the fire of all the stars in the universe are shinning a little brighter? Just me? Okay.

Online or otherwise remotely, you mean? Yes, I've had relationships and friendships that started that way.

It could be either but I've never had that experience with someone I met online before. I mean face to face, in person. Let's say you met them at a function or at a book club, walking your dog, something like that.
Yes, that's what I'm talking about. I've had serious relationships, and good friendships, with people met online or otherwise remotely. It's how people meet now, so why not?

I agree. A very good friend of mine, I met online almost 4 years ago and we still talk almost every single day.

But what I was referring to in my first post is someone I met recently and I'm drawn to in an unusual way. I almost can't explain it in words. I'm sure they feel it too.

Yeah. I had a relationship like that that started remotely.

I'm so tired mentally. Someone I've adored and looked up to my whole life tried to commit suicide and will be in the Pych ward until Monday or Wednesday. This whole situation has been stressful and emotionally exhausting, especially with my own mental health issues. They seemed to be doing better yesterday, though.

I keep forgetting cats are literally made to jump, climb and land. This morning Teddy used my desk to jump up onto the top of my bookshelf, which honestly isn't much taller than the cat tree, but my first instinct was to freak out and get him down.

I'm starting to view it the way Jackson Galaxy would, and you know, I guess it is a pretty bomb hang out for a cat. If Teddy keeps showing interest I'll probably add a shelf next to the bookshelf to make going up and down easier and put something soft to lay on up there.

The boys' appetites have been ridiculous. They must be going through a growth spurt or something because their poop came back normal so no parasites. They are also very active and probably burn off a lot of calories. I Know they are kittens still (6months), I just don't want to unintentionally overfeed them. But I also don't want to underfeed them in an attempt to not overfeed.

My autistic/special needs nephew visited and Finny was a champ. My nephew was holding him in a way that would make my last cat chew your arm off, but Finny just chilled. Not saying he enjoyed it, but still, his tolerance was impressive. He'd probably make a good therapy cat. My nephew tries to be very gentle but his motor skills are awkward and clumsy so yeah, try as he might he will never be able to hold an animal the correct way. And it does give me anxiety, so I try to tell him to just give the cats pets and hugs and to just let them go where they want to instead of moving them places. But I am glad Finny will let my nephew love on him. Teddy is sweet, too, but only likes cuddles on his terms and does not like being held so he'd just move every time my nephew tried to hug him. Still a good boy, though.
