Don't try to shuck them. They are to be eaten pod and all, much like a green bean. The pod is where the nutrients are. Thanks, I'll try some.

Peas are good in frozen form and they don't have any salt. I buy a 2 pound package for very reasonable. You can't really tell the difference (or at least I can't) between fresh and frozen. And though I love fresh fruits and vegetables, I keep frozen versions of both on hand for when I run out of fresh ones. They have vegetable combinations with no salt in 1-pound bags, such as "Mexican Style", "Southwest Style", "Oriental Style", "Mediterranean Style", "California Style", etc., very reasonable and very good. I never cook them for as long as the directions say, because I like them as close to fresh in flavor as possible, so after the water boils and I put the vegetables in, I cover the pot and only cook for maybe 2 minutes or so. They are perfectly good. I like a little margarine on mine, and some fresh ground pepper -- no salt. Salt makes high blood pressure worse, among other negative effects. I rarely use salt in cooking, but add perhaps a teaspoon to a big pot of soup when I make it. Otherwise, I prefer black pepper or other herbs and spices.Ha! Staple diet! It took me forever to get it, I'm not good with jokes.
I'll have to sample a bunch of different frozen veggies then. Asparagus would be great.
@foxxycat was there in my bedroom again last night, watching over me. It seemed so real. Guardian angel?
Thanks, I'll try some.
Huh. I thought bulimia was where they throw up.Huh, I guess binging and restricting is a form of bulimia. But the term does confuse people.
Thank you so much. I will try this.so after the water boils and I put the vegetables in, I cover the pot and only cook for maybe 2 minutes or so. They are perfectly good. I like a little margarine on mine, and some fresh ground pepper -- no salt.
This sounds exactly like what I was doing. It took over my life. It's called Binge Eating Disorder.
My case worker just called and she is making the appointment with my new PCP for me. I think they were concerned that my mom is moving too slow. They were really concerned about my high blood pressure Monday and my swollen feet. I hope I'll be okay. You need to get with your new PCP.
Yes, that sounds exactly like what I was doing. Thank you. What you describe sounds most like Bulimia Nervosa, non-purging type (basically, restricting/fasting/over exercising to compensate for the binge instead of purging).
Bulimia is purging, whether by throwing up or by laxative. Both my mom and I had it at different times, and got over it without any assistance. It happened with each of us at times in our lives where we were having a lot of stress, not because we wanted to do so, but our bodies rebelled against food and we would throw up almost immediately after eating.Huh. I thought bulimia was where they throw up.
Thank you so much. I will try this.

Good on your case worker! And avoid salt (be careful of prepared foods. Many if not most contain a lot of sodium) and drink a lot of water if possible, to cleanse your system. They are monitoring your heart, yes? This can be related to edema (swelling) but is not necessarily the cause in every case.My case worker just called and she is making the appointment with my new PCP for me. Is that blood pressure? They seemed really concerned with the number on Monday. I of course didn't understand the number because I never went to doctors for 20 years. They are monitoring your heart, yes?

Awww man, what is a high fiber diet? This is so complicated. From what I'm reading, you are engaging in a high fiber diet.
A high fiber diet is what we talked about earlier about the whole grains, fruit and veggies. Add legumes and beans to things that are high in fiber.Awww man, what is a high fiber diet? This is so complicated.
I just had the fruits and veggies. I haven't added the whole grains and beans to my diet yet.fruit and veggies
