My new dentist is an endodontist. But so was the last one. And my root canal got infected and so did two other people that went to her.
I'm so sorry you had such an unpleasant and unprofessional experience. :hugs:

It feels good to not have the tooth pain there anymore. It's just weird brushing my one tooth, the second molar, that's all by itself on the right side.
Glad to hear you are pain free on the right side of your mouth now. Fingers crossed you'll be able to chew on it soon. :crossfingers:

It didn't say they covered dentures on that card they gave me, but maybe they do. I could never afford 28 implants. That's just a pipe dream. :(
There's a new procedure where they permanently attach dentures to implants. It would still be pretty expensive, as I think you need 4 implants for the upper, and 4 for the lower, but probably a bit cheaper than 28 implants.

Yeah, I saw that. Not thrilled with all the plastic that would be permanently drilled into my mouth though.

I had a dream the other night that one of my upper canines was rotting and I pulled it out and then my mouth looked unbalanced (the gap disappeared, so just not symmetrical) and I wanted to put it back in.

I blame job stress and this thread.

The world of dentistry is rapidly changing M maggiedemi Don’t give up on that dream. Implants were a rarity not many years back but they have changed a lot. The art of implants is being refined and I expect that in the , not too distant, future they will be a much more simplified process than they were. There is a new surgery that was recently developed in another country that should be in the U.S soon that could help me. I had an implant fail because of how the bone was by my sinus (it had been broken previously) but the new surgery could correct that much more easily than the surgery currently available here. The prices have come down too. Also you would not need eighteen. They place several of the screws across an area and can attach a bunch of teeth to those screws. It’s sort of like a denture or a bridge but it stays in place instead of coming out. It’s a lot to try and explain in a post but there is every hope that your dream can come true. There are lots of ways all this can be done now and improvements are always being made. It’s hard having to travel for dental work. I had to travel 3 hours to a specialist and that was rough so I understand. My regular dentist is an hour away. There are some that recently opened in a town nearer to me. Maybe new ones will open up nearer to you that will be accepted on your medical plan. Hang in there and we’ll all stay hopeful for you that good new things come your way.
