Where on LinkedIn would I find invites to join a group? There's a group for people at work and I've been sent invites but I have no idea where to find those invites to accept :confused2: I'm not getting emails notifying me of a group invitation either :dunno: All my communication settings are set to ON. I have requested to join the group but the group owner isn't seeing any member requests on her end :confused2: LinkedIn Help is no help at all and neither is Google.

kashmir64 kashmir64 Your video makes me screaming homesick for the Mojave. Our place looked like yours in a lot of ways. Once that dez gets in your blood it's there for life, IMHO.

Other than the sage there is nothing here that looks like the desert. If you go a few miles south, you're in the pines. I grew up in the desert and hate it with a passion. But it is beautiful in it's own way.

We lived at 4,100 feet, "where the desert meets the mountains" and we had 4 distinct season, snow in the winter (sometimes a LOT) and pines galore. Joshuas and yuccas and cacti, too.

OK, I concede. I can definitely see it in a couple of those pictures. I'm at 5700 ft and we don't have the cactus. Except for those stumpy little Staghorn Cholla looking things. Just small enough that you don't see them, but big enough that when you step on them you get a cactus needle up your foot.

Yes. There are so, so many with "uncertain futures" and when I think that none of us knows what our fate will be in the next moment, let alone years, it puts things in perspective. I am outraged that human beings are so arrogant that they have set themselves over other living beings, giving themselves the right of saying who shall live and who shall not. So while I'm here, I've got work to do every single day, advocating for those I love.
Bravo!

I used to hang out with some of my cousins. They ran in a big pack and one of the guys in it was named Cholla. That name fit him perfectly. He was one you didn't turn your back on.

I managed to get a major archaeology site report done with time to spare. The meeting is mid August about commencing the project, so the organization already has it. Now I just have to worry about the legalese.

Now I'm itching to get back in the trenches, because I just spent a month doing archaeology field survey reports. I WANT to get back to digging now I'm healed from my rib injury, plus I only have a few more weeks I can dig before school starts.

F FflurCadwgawn That sounds so exciting. Hope you're down in the ditches soon with your archaeological implements, making amazing finds.
kashmir64 kashmir64 , Mia6 Mia6 , and catspaw66 catspaw66 , adding my Prayers and thoughts to yours and everyone else's. My PTSD kicks in every time one of these massacres happens, and that's pretty frequently these days. Then I count our own blessings and try to go on about my work and life, so grateful I can.
I eat those, too, catspaw66 catspaw66 . They're good, aren't they?

Yes and to Dayton as well. When will this stop?
Dayton? I hadn't heard of that one. Need to look it up and find out what happened.

ETA: Just saw about Dayton. Sending thoughts that way also.

After seeing the last episode of Dr. Oz and hearing that essential oils are deadly to our cats, I threw away the plug in air freshener that uses an oil. I read up on line about different types of air fresheners. Apparently a cat's liver doesn't have the enzymes to get rid of the chemicals in them. I had an ah ha! moment. Maybe that's why my kitty has been vomiting occasionally for a long time and the vet can't find a reason for it. I'll see if things improve after she's had time to get it out of her system from grooming and ingesting the stuff.

I use aerosols. Are those bad too?
