We spent over 4 hrs. at the ER vet tonight with Carleton, long story for a different forum.:( By the time we got home we were starving but wanted to eat the easiest thing to make, i.e. ended up eating sandwiches and fruit for dessert.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope he's OK. We send him lots of hugs and snuggles. Feel better soon sweet Carleton. :hugs:

Dinner tonight is pizza

neely neely Is Carleton feeling better? Hope he's going to be OK.

Well, Dear Richard said NO to the ham and pasta idea. He texted me from work and said he wanted McD's. He was REALLY hungry for McD's. I said, "OK, fine, bring it home from work with you" and that's what he did.

So tonight I'm using the ham in ham and cheese calzones. The dough is already made this morning and is rising in the fridge.

Hope Carleton is feeling better. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Since I've been doing a fair amount of cooking lately, with lots of leftovers, there's a lot of food in the freezer now. So think I'll be eating "frozen dinners" for the next little while.

We were going to have cinnamon French toast, but now we’re not. I made a loaf of cinnamon bread, put it in the oven, and set the timer on my phone. When it went off, I came into the kitchen to discover that my husband had turned off the oven at some point. :angryfire: :censored: He used the timer for something but turned off the timer and the oven. He couldn’t remember when, and I couldn’t tell how done the bread was. I tried to estimate but I now have a loaf of cinnamon bread that’s doughy in the middle. So WE’RE GOING OUT TONIGHT. Somewhere REALLY expensive. :argh:

You would think so, wouldn’t you, but he’s done it before. I was there, though, and caught it. He might not do it again. He knew I was :censored:. The Death Rays shooting from my eyes were a clue.

Sigh. Cinnamon bread is kind of labor intensive. :( Oh well. I’ll make another loaf this week.

I decided to bake since I stayed home all day to keep Carleton company. (He's feeling a bit better today.) I had a simple dinner, i.e. broccoli with 2 garbanzo cakes made from chickpeas because I was looking forward to dessert - oatmeal chocolate chip cookie bars. They taste so good when they're warm from the oven.

I'm glad Carleton's starting to feel better. Please give him some snuggles for me.

Dinner tonight? Grilled chicken wings and salad

I'm going to make the brown sugar garlic chicken again but instead of the slow cooker, I'm going to put it in the oven. Maybe it won't come out anemic looking this time:crossfingers: I have veggie tots to put in the oven, too.

Yesterday I had leftovers but made tortellini with squash and sausage for lunches this week. I broke the sausage up into pieces before I cooked it and that worked out better than trying to break it up in the pan. Oddly I bought onion at the supermarket yesterday but the recipe doesn't call for onion :headscratch: No idea why I had onion on my grocery list :dunno: I'll give it to Mom to use.

There's a town in northern MO called California, and there is where you'll find Burgers Smokehouse.Their bacon is the best I have ever had,so I bought a package of their applewood smoked, and we are having biscuits and eggs with it.I can hardly wait!Oh...and yes they have a website....
