My Feral And Rescued Cats

I found a few more injuries when I took a shower. I have cuts on my knees and dark bruises on my legs from when I threw myself between the cats and hit the floor. Then I have little holes in my leg that could be from Maggie's claws. I cleaned everything with soap and took some vitamins & herbs that are antibacterial. I'll put something on the cuts and go to sleep for 8 hours and see if I can heal.

M maggiedemi Sounds like you really threw yourself between them. Be careful . I know we all tend to try and stop that sort of thing but see if you can keep a broom handy for now. That usually works well to put between them as it startles them into stopping. Sleep well. That is healing time. Expect to be sore more tomorrow but better the next day. We will all have you in our thoughts and hearts.

Well! Poor maggiedem and the kitties, Maggie and Demi! We all hate to see a kitty fight! Very upsetting. I got caught in a bad one once the same way. Ouch! I know we all hope the kitties won’t argue again. Healing vibes going out tonight! No hurt bodies or hurt feelings!

As for our day here on the feral front.....Tomorrow night I will be trying to convince BJ to go into a carrier, cage or trap to go for neutering on Tuesday. Ha! I may be carrying a few more scratches myself by then. I’ll consider them badges of honor if I accomplish getting him fixed! He’s a sly cat.

The other kitties have been doing varied things today. Here is a little of how things went.

Dolly is the eldest and demonstrates that he is the “Top Cat” to Whistle by taking the top bunk on the cat tree.

Mylaughkng cat, Mackie, just snuggled the blanket. He’s glad Mom is home.

Old Smokey took a luxurious cat nap.

Mitsy took advantage of the time everyone else used to sleep by asking Mom for undivided attention. I love her expression here. Mom! Can you pet me now? She got it!

This is a little blurry but it made me laugh so I had to post it. Smokey woke up from her nap and got my attention by doing her famous,”puppy dog” imitation. She always looks so cute when she does this! I’m a happy kitty Mom!

Whistle didn’t like being on the lower tier of the cat tree so he left. He was a little disgusted he couldn’t convince Dolly to move. Lol

Blue is glad no strangers are feeding him now.

Tortuga is enjoying the curtains I moved in order to sweep today. She didn’t want to give them up!

When I went to give Liberty some love she looked happy...... but a little guilty.

Really Liberty?!?!?! Did you need that much paper or did it just get stuck to the bottom of your shoe? She did not like my joke or the fact that I picked up her paper toy.
Not funny Mom! I want my toy back!

And Banjo is having great kitty dreams about chasing a catnip mouse.

Oh boy. A house full of kitties keeps me hopping, cleaning and laughing. What could be better?
The other kitties are waiting for more petting. We’ll be back tomorrow with more kitty cuties.

lol at the toilet paper. I can't help but laugh when I see my kitties unroll the TP too. When I got my finger scratched it swelled up and I couldn't move it. I was afraid it was seriously injured, but it was just fine. When I want to break up a fight, I stick my foot in or put a pillow between them. I wish everybody could just get along.

Thanks everybody for your healing vibes. I think the 8 hours of sleep really helped. The cuts look better and no swelling. It still stings though.
I wonder if redirected aggression caused Maggie to attack Demi? Remember when she punched my new feral Gretchen under the garage door? By the way, Gretchen seems to be living at my neighbors now! I think they have a shed with a kitty door with food inside for their indoor/outdoor cats. Maybe it's all for the best.

M maggiedemi , glad you're feeling a bit better. Have a cup of (yep, you guessed it) chamomile tea. LOL, I add it to ALL herbal remedies, simply because the body heals better when relaxed (hence the sleep thing!). Cat fights are just terrifying! We can't help but react. I hate that you got so danged beat up, though. Probably far worse than the cats in question...

What happened to your hand, is it a secret? My hands look terrible, but the first layer of skin seems to have healed over, so that's a plus.
That's funny that two of the cats are in the trap by choice.

M maggiedemi No secret. I think it is a combination of arthritis, lifting very heavy stuff, a deep claw wound and holding this little phone for hours to try and type my posts. Lol It will pass if I give it a rest. Can’t stop the heavy lifting but will take it easy on all else for a few days. I need someone with energy here like you! I hope you are healing well!

The cats are really making me laugh by hanging out in the open trap. I think they are laughing at me. Who can blame them? How often do cats gets to play a joke on Mom. Oh yeah.... everyday! Lol

Mamanyt1953 BJ is supposed to go next week. Huh! Just have to hang in there. I really did not need the extra stress on my hand right now but maybe it will be for the best anyway. I didn’t have to carry a heavy trap and cat out.
