If she can't reach to clean, expect at least 4 kittens I'll bet! My poor girl looked like a bowling ball with toothpick legs!
Aaaw bless your girl..... I don’t mind how many kits she has as long as she and they are all fine. The kids are putting £1 bets on it, lol....

Did you keep your girls kits or sell/give them away? Did mama cat find it upsetting? Did you feel upset? I don’t know how breeders go through this but I guess they are experts and do it with purpose rather than a rookie crazy cat lady who acquired a pregnant kitty.

She’s had a bit of a mad half hour and started scamping boy cat much to our amusement. They are so funny to watch. I feel sorry for him though as he is not scamping her back as he would usually just looking at her with disdain as if he’s thinking “You’re not going to get away with this once those babies are born” lol...

This is what happens when mama thinks you are messing with her baby!!!
Ouchie! We all have some cuts from boy cat as he is still quite “swipey” if you know what I mean. I know he doesn’t mean it, he’s just getting used to us. He enjoys a good fuss one minute then bites and claws you the next. Bless him. Luckily I don’t have any really young children, mine are 10 and upwards so they know they are approaching at their own peril.

Tiggy doesn’t display this type of behaviour (yet, lol) But I’ll be sure to approach with caution when the kits are born...

Loving hearing about all of your experiences and stories and so much love for your kitties.... x x x

This was a totally random and atypical situation of mama attacking me and it was totally my fault. I was turning on the shower and one of the kittens got scared by the sound and tried to squeeze himself into a little hole under my sink (he was probably about 6 weeks old), and I tried to grab him to stop him. He cried LOUDLY, the only time i've ever heard any of them do that, and mom came flying into the bathroom and went absolutely ballistic. I was on my hands and knees, i'm lucky she did not get my face! She literally chased me out of the bathroom and into my bedroom. I tried to shut her out but she squeezed in at the last minute. I opened the door and told her to get out and she did. I stood there for about 30 seconds and then opened the door and she was there crying for me!! She was so scared, she wanted me to reassure her and I felt so bad! Like either she realized what she had done, or the whole thing was just way scary for her too! There were lots of pets and cuddles and I was so proud of her, as silly as that sounds. She has always been such a good mommy and I could never be mad at her for doing exactly what she's supposed to! That is the only time she has ever shown any aggression whatsoever. That is definitely not the norm around here! But I learned my lesson and didn't try to grab any more scared kittens :p

When we had kits, we gave one away. She wanted to go, climbed up in his arms and wouldn't get down. But we couldn't do it again. Mom cat took care of the remaining three their entire lives, protecting them from strangers and being there for them. She outlived them, which was good because they did need her.

Your little mama is so beautiful!
Waiting really is hard isn't it? I have read so many cat pregnancy articles and watched so many videos too! It's been a fun little obsession to forget about a bad day at work but now I just really want to know when mine will have her kittens.
Any kittens for you yet?

Oh wow, I am really learning a lot about cats from you all. I thought that when the kits are weaned they would kind of drift apart and become really independent so it’s lovely to read such a heart warming story. I’m really sorry for your loss though. x x x

Ah thank you....
Am totally with you with the obsessive reading of articles. I am quite a bit more chilled out now though than when I first posted on here As everyone has been so supportive and lovely, offering advice and sharing stories. This is a lovely kitty community.
Still no kits here.... how about with you? Any ideas when she might Be due or are you as much in the dark as me? X X

JUSt took the second pic.... She’s just come to me for a really good fuss, kept putting her paws up onto my chest and rubbing her face on mine and giving me little kitty kisses...
My daughter is off school today and has just come downstairs and she meowed like crazy at her, lol. So cute.
Still no kits, felt quite bad for laughing earlier as when she flopped onto the floor she almost rolled over she’s so round. Bless her....
I can still see them moving in her tum so I’m trying to stay chilled out about it.....
Until she goes into labour and I come on here going heeeeeelp! Lol.... x x x

She is so sweet! My Mia was really affectionate in the start and mid pregnancy but has a bit more distant (but always making sure she is in the same room as me) towards the end. She had been a bit more affectionate the last few days but other than that she is not letting on to when she might have the kittens even though she is 63 days from breeding.
Has your girl always been so talkative and affectionate or did this just start more recently?

Aaaw Mia is gorgeous! That pic just made me giggle and my heart melt at the same time...
She is normally (I say normally when we haven’t really had her very long)
Really vocal, but the past week she’s been really quiet and subdued so it’s nice to hear her being a little Meowzer again today....
I’ve given up thinking everything she does is a sign she’s about to give birth, lol.....
It’s so exciting though isn’t it?
Can’t wait to see Mia’s babies.... Did you breed her with a Bengal that looks like her? Just wondering what her kits might look like... x x x x

She really is such an adorable little cat, can you imagine carrying around 6 or so babies in your tummy? :heartshape:
Aaaw thanks..... she’s such a sweetie pie.
We have all turned into the crazy cat family since these two have come into our lives.
Gosh know I couldn’t imagine 6 babies in my tum.... one was hard enough towards the end of the pregnancy...... lol... especially my youngest who was doing somersaults right up until she was born at home ten days late!

I know what you mean about trying not to look for every sign this might be it. I tell myself I am just going to try and go on with life and not think about it but than...what? What was that? Did the kittens move? Are they further down than before?? Is there goo on her kit bits?? Is that dried milk on the teets. LOL

I don't want to take over on your thread so I don't want to post more of my pictures here but I did put a picture up of daddy cat on my threat "60 days" if you want to check him out. I did breed her with another registered Bengal cat that I think will make great kittens with her. :-). Keep us posted!

Awww, Mia is so adorable. Don't worry, when the time comes, instinct will take over and your momma cat will more than likely know just what to do. All you have to do is enjoy the show, and by all means, relax and have fun. watching a cat give birth is such a joy to watch. We ladies were so busy during out birthing times, we could not just sit back and enjoy. ;):D

In Nature, ferals barn cats, cats left to their own choices, tend to form prides like lions, only small cats include the males in their prides. The mothers share taking care of the kittens, feeding, washing and watching over all of them. This means if a mother cat is killed there is someone to raise her kits. The males also help.

The idea of the loner cat probably began when people moved into cities and didn't want to bother with kittens. Stories are usually about the adventures of one cat - Puss in Boots, Kipling's Rikki Tikki Tave the cat who walked alone. Literature is nice, but it isn't always based in truth.

No doubt parents pushed the idea, "you can only have one cat (or dog), they don't like living with other cats (dogs)." And the wicked advice which is still wandering the net that if you take a pair of cats, particularly siblings, they'll ignore you because they are only capable of loving one being at a time. The universe will demand retribution for that lie.

I can't tell you how many times I sat with my feet on the footstool and three 12 lb cats sitting on my lap, my thighs, my shins. It's hard on the knees but worth it.
