View attachment 213569 Jack is 19 and feisty! Love to play with toy mice to impress his kitty mama. Starting to go blind a bit,but still trying to be the king of his mama's bed.
You got him to wear that bow tie!

That's impressive! I assume he wasn't under the influence of anything . . . .

My beloved Lotje, the cat of my life. I lost her when she was almost 21.

This picture was taken when she was 17 1/2.

She loved the company of my chickens (like Missy does)

What a beautiful lady! Her white "accents" show off her bright coloring beautifully. *I know how hard it hits to have to part from our beloved ones. But I hope your beliefs are as mine, that we will see them again. We are promised this.*

Funny, I've noticed this all my life! I'm sure the same is true for you, 1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine :happycat: -- EVEN when it comes to certain Snowshoes! :angrycat:
tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 - I've never met a cat that I didn't like, nor one who didn't decide to become Friends, be it soon or late. They're easy to relate to - they sleep when they're tired, they eat when they're hungry, and they Love when they're Loved - a Love which eclipses anything which Humans will ever understand or be able to offer.

Cats are black and white - nothing they do is done at random, and nothing they do is done with half an Heart. They're intensely loyal and surpassing gentle; imbued with every positive attribute for which Humans should strive, yet encumbered by none of Mankind's vices. There's nothing in this Life which I would rather do than to simply sit quietly with a cat.

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine I couldn't have said it better. And yes, cats ARE black and white. And black and orange. And...oh, silly me.

Elvis: "Age? Schmage! Nothin's gonna slow ME down!" :yess::runningcat:

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 - I know well the way you've always spoiled treated your cats; I'd imagine that Elvis will pretty much go on forever. Lord, but he's such an handsome fellow! :)

Wow that is amazing!!!!
zed xyzed zed xyzed - They're really just young sprouts, although they're the oldest littermates who've been with me their whole Lives.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 and @Winchester and @posiepurrs will attest that kitties will endure as long as they're happy and well-cared for. Here are a few others (pictured with Lance and Peanut) who've passed their twentieth birthdays over these last sixty years or so:

TWENTY-NINE YEARS ELEVEN MONTHS! *and that's not the only amazing attainment!* You must be doin' somethin' right, 1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine . :goldstar: I can't claim to have any in my "stable" who have attained that great age, but Sammi was reportedly 21 and Rani was absolutely 19, as was our first cat in my folks' and my family. But yeah, basically, if you eat a good diet, live a good lifestyle and I would personally add, believe and trust in our Creator (I leave it to each person reading to seek and find in what way is right for them, and I am not detracting from those who feel otherwise, but it is a very powerful thing to me), you can't go too wrong, with your beloved cats, your kids if you have them, and yourself.
I don't take much credit in Elvis' case. He came from a LOT of love. I knew that the instant we met. His dad still loves him very much and I'm certain he gave him very good care including lots of love.:yess:

For my part, yes, the love is #1, along with safety (keeping 'em indoors only!), good food (high quality wet food 3x a day, plus high quality dry for a snack, and dental treats, ditto), fresh water (both in stationery bowls in a cat fountain, cleaned weekly, just like the instructions call for), exercise, comfort -- you know, the whole 9, just like we like for ourselves! No smoking, no alcohol, no other drugs, no cattin' around *fix 'em by five! months, that is* and limit their cat porn. :winkcat:
