Honeybee on my lap, music playing in background
Honeybee survived another haircut yesterday but she was very ticky hissy, more so than usual. The poor girl growled and howled like she was a big lion. She was so loud she upset the resident cat Hasel...who we shooed into the next room. I get her shaved because she has asthma and has a hard time breathing in this hot humid weather. The dingbat won't stay indoors but prefers to sleep under the lilac shrubs. I think she feels better without the 10 pounds of fur. Plus like @Norachan mentioned, less sticks and leaves dragged into the house. She sure loves her back yard and we only have 5 to 6 months of warmer weather. In the winter she doesn't go outside unless its 45 or warmer. Last winter we had many nights that were 0 or less.

Sending positive thoughts and prayers to Pallina that all continues to go well.

Keep up all the posts as I love it. As far as flea markets and thrift stores those are my favorite places to shop. I for some reason never like mew retain stores. I prefer things that have been gently loved and still have life left in them...and I am cheap. I detest retail prices. Today got a huge bag of puzzles for $5. There were 10 puzzles in there...and they have a home in my closet of now 25 puzzles or so...lost count after 25. I am collecting for the long winter. I detest overpriced thrift stores charging 3 to 6 for a used jigsaw puzzle.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 -- thanks for the link about Vet Techs. Yeah, my friend always said the practical jokes are because she "loves me". Yeah, well maybe love me a little less then.
foxxycat foxxycat -- I'll have to buy a puzzle, since you say they are so fun. I haven't done one since I was a kid, I think it was a Disney puzzle.
My positive for this post is we had a guy come to replace our computer modem/router thingy. I hear the guy go "Hi little guy!" I turn around and there's Demi, he just froze, he didn't run away and hide. Does this mean he's becoming less feral-ish? :cheerleader:

I love your newest collectibles!

Here's one of our cat lamps. Now how can anyone not want to be on a site where this cat lamp is? :dunno:
And M maggiedemi -- yeah, I'd agree. We never know what goes into anyone else's past, character, etc., but I'd definitely want a lot less of that "love". I was in a job once where there was kind of a group of us and one got the bright idea of clipping off a little bit of each of our hair and putting it in an envelope labelled "hair sisters" and tacking it to the breakroom board. I guess most people wouldn't care at all, but I had a strict taboo against my hair being cut at al, and it ticked me off because of course she did it without my knowledge, while I was distracted by something else. Not "mean" exactly, but not very considerate IMHO. Again, I'm definitely not your "average person" but...:disappointed:

I rescued my lost Banjo from another state today. I returned to post that to make people smile! How often does a pair of lost kittens both get saved? It is the best! Here is something to smile about! Banjo rescued from being lost and traveling back to safety!

It's nice to be back from vacation. Yesterday was fun - we went kayaking in the morning

(Apologies for the rogue finger and the cloudiness of the pictures- my phone was in a ziploc bag to stay dry)

Then we drove home and I got to see my girl again. I was sooo tired most of today, but it was a great birthday trip.

My positive is that today turned out great for Banjo! It was a beautiful sky as we drove her back home. I love reading the positive messages here. Sending kitty smiles and beautiful skies to everyone. Hopefully all is positive for all the good people here and that I am sending good vibes anywhere they are needed.:vibes::redheartpump::sunshine::purr:

PushPurrCatPaws PushPurrCatPaws - Holy Cats! I didn't even know that Milly could cook! I don't suppose she caters, eh?

Another bright sunny day here in western New York, but nowhere near as bright as in Orbassano, Italy, where Antonio65's beautiful Pallina seems to be recovering wonderfully from her liver surgery on Friday morning. Antonio saw her yesterday, and she purred for him. This morning he was told she was standing on her own, and she has gone from fighting for her Life to fighting through her incredible recovery.

For anyone who's so far missed the chance to offer their support and good wishes, Antonio's thread is here:

Pallina's Final Battle

and is updated regularly. Please drop in if time allows, just to wish Pallina well!

Hi all!
...things...
A gentle morning rain that saved me from having to hand water, and yet didn't defeat the intent of leaving the sprinkler system off as long as possible in order to dry portions of the yards out.

Two hummingbirds on the feeder, and they actually stayed (I know, this is nuttin' to those of you who have them, lots of them and regularly) - at least until the third one "upset the apple cart" LOL

and a semi groomed cat, until the increasing intensity and volume of meows indicated my time was over/done/finit-o :blackcat2: :cloud9:

With the great news about Banjo from Jcatbird Jcatbird and the hopeful UPdate about Pallina from 1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine plus all of the posts from members doing happy things for birthdays and just in general, this is a PAWSitive day, yes? It's a nice calm day here -- radio is on, work is ongoing for cats, and I have a sweet tortoiseshell assistant doing croissant duty beside me.

Awww, she looks so sweet! I actually like the lion cut. I know it's not to everyone's taste, but I think it really suits Forest.

Forest looks great in his lion cut but Bebe is so small and skinny too so that her head looks like it should be on another cat's body, that' s why she looks so weird

@Norachan - You can borrow mine. Owed to the drought, I've cut the lawn twice in twenty-six days. Typically it takes about 32 hours a week to maintain. When you're ready to return it, just put Carpet and Forest Cat inside and lock the doors.

Since the trip from Japan to the East Coast will take that lawn mover across SoCal Carpet will be dropped off here first before Forest keeps going. On second thought, he can be dropped off here also, I'll find room for him somehow.
;)

We're getting a little break from the heat here today, but the real 'break' is the break which Antonio65 and his beautiful girl Pallina got overnight. She made it through the post-surgical night, and took nourishment this morning through an e-tube. Her vitals are good and her temperature has returned to the range of normal.

To her surgeon, to everyone on TCS who added their support, their good wishes - and especially, their Prayers for Pallina's recovery - bravo! Every one of you deserves to go out for ice cream today! Hey. Hey! Bring me back a hot fudge sundae, okay?
.
He loves going out in his enclosure. Another advantage of him having a trim is that he doesn't come back in with twigs and leaves and seeds adorning his belly.

This picture was taken a few months ago. The weeds are way over his head now.

Got to borrow a mower from someone.

segelkatt segelkatt --it's confusing when you embed your replies in other people's quotes. Can someone give a quick lesson on how to use quotes? For me too, I don't know how to do it either. :)
Shane Kent Shane Kent --Do you ever buy cat figurines online? Where is the best place to buy them?
My positive for the day is after 4 years, today Maggie was going around asking people for pets. What the heck? I guess 4 years is the magic number to tame a feisty little feral girl. :cheerleader:

Where my cats are
I have a different sort of pawsitive tonight. It doesn't involve me; but it makes me happy so I'm sharing anyway.

I am somewhat acquainted with a gentleman a bit younger than my parents. (I'm not totally sure of his age, to be honest.) His wife passed away a few years ago and I didn't find out till a bit later. It was a shock to me. They worked out of the country and only came home a few times a year. He went back after she passed. I saw him today and he said he is engaged to be married in a couple months! He met a nice lady through his work and one thing led to another; and here they are.

It's nice to see someone so happy after they've had sadness like that. :agree:

I have a bit of literal/actual Pawsitive good news, the new neighbors across the street who moved out of an apartment into a house and have a baby, didn't fully realize their Akita needed grooming attention (they weren't taking her for regular walks anymore). Her claws were INCREDIBLY long. She's now being taken care of in that regard.

THANK YOU:
Every firefighter, all the rescue and emergency medical groups, pilots, police, Fish and Wildlife, Forest Service, United States federal state and local governments involved with wildfires, highway patrols, all the volunteers, and Australia, New Zealand, and a South Dakota-based Food Truck and other food services.
You are the most incredible people in the world.

Yummy is a positive thought! What a wonderful breakfast! Gentle rain, hummingbirds and a kitty that tolerated some grooming! A peaceful and pleasant day. My kitties are happy to have me home and I am happy to be back with them after a rescue trip with a happy ending. A road trip yesterday, which is rare for me. I got to see some interesting sites and beautiful places. Ball games making for happy fans, Happy new couples and new babies, Comfortable doggies and all are positives worth enjoying! My lost kitties are now both back home and reunited as siblings! Their love for each other is heartwarming! I hope this makes everyone else feel as good as it makes me feel!
