Looking For Cat Litter Recommendations Please

Hi everyone.
I’ve finally gotten to the point where I’m getting sick of having white paw prints all over my dark wood floors and my furniture. Im looking for a low dust, low tracking cat litter that also has good odor control. The no dust part is extremely important as that’s the reason behind me trying to switch litters. I was looking at the dr.esleys ultra cat litter. Does anyone have experience with that one? Any others that you can recommend?
I’m currently using the fresh step non clumping clay litter and I like it other than the dreadful white residue all over the place.

Thank you For you recommendation! What’s the consistency of it? The reason I was looking at dr elseys is bc it appears to have a similar consistency to the fresh step. Any dust from it?

Hi! Neither of the littermaids iimentioned have any dust. The corncob is similar to small flakes. The walnut is probably closer to your current one, it's a tiny bit weighty, if thats the right word, kind of like dense sugar except a little bit finer ground.
I don't know Dr elseys.

All litter generates some dust. The respiratory relief products just have really low initial dust levels but none are dust free. The crystal litter by design turns to dust as it absorbs urine and it dries out stools. The amount of dust you want to put up with is proportional to how often you want to change the litter and the number of cats using the litter box. The more often you change (2-3 weeks) the less dust you'll have.

I've used clay (clumping) and crystal litter (non-clumping). IMO the crystal generates more dust and it gets on everything near/around the litter box. However I put up with it because the crystal doesn't weigh as much as the clay and I don't have to toss away ziploc bags filled with clumped litter.

There is a clumping crystal (SoPhresh?) litter which may be an in-betweener. I've never used it.

Thank you for your insight. Right now I change out the whole litter box every 10 days and I still have tons of white paw prints everywhere.

I just bought Wegmans brand litter 40 pounds for 5.75 and it is so dusty in comparison, I probably will go back to paws and claws now.

How is the tracking? Right now with the fresh step I find white paw prints on my wooden furniture and my dark floors

I dont notice any paw prints at all. He is a messy boy so sometimes some litter kernels get right outside his box, but that doesnt have to do with the litter. I dont notice any paw marks or dust on my furniture. I have carpet, but he does walk on my tile in the kitchen and on my coffee table which is wooden and Ive never seen paw prints.

Fresh step is so dusty. I would never get that litter again

I use the Fresh Step lightweight....Beans usually tracks a little right by his litter box, but I see it has normal. I like it, but I don't have wooden floors.

No not at all.besides the bit of litter around the box from his digging but I keep a small dustpan in the bathroom to clean up. But no white paw prints around the house at all

Hi again, you're correct that I use both the littermaid corncob and the walnut and no, there's no tracking with either. My boy is a very vigorous digger and has hairy paws but these don't stick to him.
There's a little bit of a pine-ish scent with the corncob which dissipates quickly. There's no fragrance with the walnut.

I do like the grass litters, and i like the littermaid walnut litter.

I am a big fan of Dr. Elseys Respiratory relief silica gel litter. It may be the easiest litter ever. no dust, and no smell. It is a very fine grain litter. Much finer than fresh step crystals or the mimi crystals. My cats are not fond of those two, i think they hurt their feet. The Dr. Elseys Respiratory relief silica crystals do not, its more like sand. And not bad at all with tracking.

if you are asking if dr. elseys crystals are similar in consistency to fresh step crystals? they are much smaller, fine grain like sand. no dust, no fragrance. My cats love Dr. elsey's respiratory relief crystals, fresh step not so much. and not the senior crystals they are quite dusty, i do not like them. and the long hair crystals are larger, kind of like fresh step crystals.
