Oh Forest Cat, gorgeous girl... you look like the Queen of the Jungle! Certainly the Queen of the Enclosure. :hearthrob::redheartpump::hearthrob::redheartpump::hearthrob:
:spew:

Gorgeous Boy! He's a boy! That would make him King of The Jungle, surely!

Don't worry, I sent a picture of him to one of my friends who lives over here and she said.

"Oh nice, he looks just like a poodle!"

Forest Cat is actually the King of Olcott Beach, but his throne is empty, and his subjects are sad. Norachan Norachan - are you listening? His subjects are sad. Very, very sad. :( Poor sad subjects.

;)

What a delightful day it was here, with temperatures rising just past sixty degrees Fahrenheit - perfect for exploring the river's shoreline close-up in the quiet of the canoe. Warmer still tomorrow and through the week's beginning - and Spring has undoubtedly arrived at last!

Edit:

Gorgeous Boy! He's a boy! That would make him King of The Jungle, surely!
Norachan Norachan - Jinx! You owe me a soda!

Norachan Norachan I have followed Forest Cat from his 'finding' all the way through his wonderful life with you and you know I have always seen him as a her. It has never even entered my head that the Gorgeous FC is male!!

It changes not a thing.. I am still in love. Possibly more so..

The Hellebores started opening their flower buds here in late February and it seems that their work is almost done. Here's what it's all about.

Desertmouse Desertmouse LOVING the videos and Frali has my heart! Maggie is gorgeous and I'm very glad she is a permanent faculty member :happycat: Happiest of anniversaries to all at Kitten Academy!
Thank you! Once they get it uploaded I’ll post their mailbag from today. It’s long, 2 hours long, but it’s like a kitty Christmas! It’s all gifts sent to the kitties and those who serve them (and the dog to!). Plus the whole time you have kittens exploring boxes, playing with new toys, or just plain being cute :D plus it’s the perfect thing to watch with kids.

margd margd - Lovely photos; Spring has clearly sprung in your neck of the woods!

This is the clearest night I've seen in many months, and from the promontory on the high bank overlooking the river, the stars which populate the vault of Heaven stretch down to the horizon in all directions save the west, where the moon washes them out.

@Shane Kent - I know you recall nights like this one, camped at some unnamed lake, where the only light you could see came from above. tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 - I'm sure that you saw many such clear nights in the Mojave, as well, with the stars wheeling 'round the Heavens. I wonder why we begin to forget, as we age, to look up at night? Why do we constantly look downward rather than the reverse?

Oh, wait... I remember now... hairballs!

Here's wishing everyone a clear and peaceful night.

Good morning folks! Spring has indeed come back for now. Yesterday was warm and windy. The bike ride was windy but the sun was warm. This morning at 5am it was clear skies and chilly 30. Hopefully in another month no more frost so we can begin planting tomatoes and other yummy plants.

Today looks to be around 57 to 60 sunny and still breezy. No black flies or rain! A lovely day!

foxxycat foxxycat - Hey - we have the same weather for a change! It was cool overnight, and we're not in the mid-fifties under clear, sunny skies.

I did actually see baby foxlettes this morning - Mama Fox had them out on the first few feet of lawn at the edge of the woods, some 450 meters back from the kitchen window. The binoculars showed four little russet fluffballs - all appearing in good health, and romping around in the bright sunlight, while Mom looked on from a very short distance. After a couple of minutes, she herded them back into the cover of the thicket that forms the 'border' between woods and lawn, and they disappeared from view.

Just a reminder to everyone: the entry deadline for this month's photo contest:

Contest - April Picture Of The Month: Grooming Time

is fast approaching, and we've currently only thirty entries - about half the size of some of the more "popular" contests in the past. Yes, yes... it's Spring, and there's not enough time to do the yard work left to us by Old Man Winter, but it only takes a moment to snap a picture and upload it to the contest thread. Come on - let's see those bloomin' kitties groomin' Human!

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine *ROFLMOTO*:lolup: Yeah, ya don't want to step on one of those gush-bombs in the middle of the night! *or any other time, for that matter* and yeah, I miss seeing the Milky Way. Since I'm extremely lactose intolerant and so are most cats, we just don't see anything to do with milk now. :flail:It's really PAWSitive that some areas of the planet realize the benefits of keeping light pollution at bay. I never really knew there WAS a night sky until I lived in the Mojave.

It's a great day for a bike ride. Thinking of going for another one later. I didn't go as far because I wanted to take in the scenery.

This is the Great Bay from the side of the road-there's no clear area to get to the beach side-it's really mucky here and the tide is out. There's Tons of stripers that go through here in Late May/June. There used to be a place to fish on the bridge but that's no longer there. On the other side there's 2 parks one can go to fish from shore but it's not as good as fishing off the bridge.

A lovely 58 degrees out with a breeze!

Beautiful pic, foxxycat foxxycat and I always picture CATS when "stripers" are mentioned. I use that term myself to refer to tabbies. And tigers. Unless, of course, the tabbies are Classics, in which case they're "swirlers". It's all PAWSitive. :yess:

I'm at a cat event for Lelia's tnr and got a big bag of goodies.

20180422_131921.jpg

No plans on letting the girl have the Temptations, and unfortunately she doesn't care for catnip, but it's still a decent haul.

I also got to talk to her old foster mom and say how spoiled she is.

foxxycat foxxycat - Man, that's a great shot! Makes me wish I hadn't gone out fox-stalking with the 200mm lens. I have the same 58 degrees that you do!

Mine has trees in it too, and far off in the distance (Mom actually gave me a little warning bark at about 100 feet away) Foxie Family!

It's definitely Spring here today!

Edit
: With the central area enlarged and sharpened just a bit, it's almost clear that the fuzzy red blobs have eyes and ears:

I won a wok in the silent auction! That was pretty cool. I also gave Lelia one of the catnip knots.

She's never showed much interest in catnip on its own before, so idk if it was the felt knot and undoing it that was more fun for her, but it still made me happy to watch her.
