Still working on the Cats in Trouble mysteries! I really, REALLY like this series. The protagonist is charming, interesting and likeable, and her three cats are...cats. Real cats. With wonderful personalities that are totally rounded, all different. These cats are very smart, but they are "real cat" smart, not "Joe Grey" or "Midnight Louis" smart.
I'm not familiar with that series and will have to check it out.

I've finished the fourth Cat in the Stacks mystery and the one about PETAnnihilators :angrycat: (Why PETA kills).

I'm reading a series that I've read once a year since college--it's called Mordant's Need by Stephen R. Donaldson.

When all else fails, I pick up A Song of Ice and Fire. It doesn't matter which book, I just pick one up and start reading. I've been reading that since 1996.

I pretty much did the same thing until the series went in a house fire a while back. I may replace it at some point, but there are other titles that come first at this point in my life.

I'm still reading the "Cats in Trouble" series, I'm on the next to the last. Today my December shipment of books arrived, so I have the few books I need to complete my Harrison Investigations and my Krew of Hunters books (well...I still need to get the novellas that are in the 1001 Dark Nights collection). AND I now have a replacement for my copy of "Alas, Babylon."

I wish I could do a December shipment. Alas, it will have to wait until after Christmas. I won't have much time for reading until then anyway.

LOL, I do Christmas shopping all year long, and only have to worry about my granddaughter in November and December. She's still young enough that she changes her mind fairly often. Everyone else is grown, I know what sort of things they like, so I can buy and stash things away.

I started the seventh book in the Cats in Trouble mystery series, and I hate to say that there is only ONE MORE to read after this!

OH...there's a new Bookmobile Cat mystery coming out in January. I got the newsletter about it today.

I was looking for another cat mystery series after finishing the Cat in the Stacks one. Now I'm on book #3 of the Cats in Trouble series. Thanks for the tip!

I hear that there is a new Cats in Trouble coming out, "The Cat, the Boy, and the Bones," but I have no clue on the date yet, darn it.

Currently I'm catching up on the few Heather Graham "Harrison Investigation" and "Krewe of Hunters" books that I was missing. I have all of them now, with the exception of the four novellas, which came out as part of the "1001 Dark Nights" series. I'll get those eventually!

I don't know how I managed to miss "The Seance," but thus far, it is pretty good!

Well, I'm now finishing up with the Heather Graham "Harrison Investgation" and the "Krewe of Hunters" serieseseseseseses ~slaps self in face~. I had read almost all of them, but was missing three or four. I still don't have the four novellas that came out in the 1001 Dark Nights series, but I'll get to them eventually! I can't seem to find those in the used book venues. I may have to order them new.

Started a novel called Blossoms and Shadows. It's by Lian Hearn and set in 19th century Japan, a setting I've always found interesting.

I've just finished, and very much enjoyed, the first seven books in the Cats in Trouble series. The 8th is on my Kindle, waiting to be read after Christmas.

Last night I started another Nathan Winograd book, Welcome Home, An Animal Rights Perspective on Living with Cats and Dogs.

I bought the book of Sir Terry Pratchett's short stories that he wrote before the Discworld books. The Witch's Vacuum Cleaner. A BookBub special at $2.

I'm reading (well, re-reading but it's been YEARS) Pat Frank's "Alas, Babylon." For some reason, I'm revisiting a lot of apocalyptic books of my youth. I go through spells like that here and there.

Hello, all, and I hope you're having happy holidays. :gift: :santa: :deer: :evergreen:

Just to make them a little better, I just got an email from BookPerk ([email protected]) stating that Hidden Figures, by Margot Lee Shetterly is on sale through December 31st for $2.99. The sellers listed include Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, Google, Kobo, IndieBound, and, of course, Harper Collins. List price for this book is $8.99.
:bunnydance: :party3: :woohoo: :dance::celebrate:

If anyone wants a copy of the email for the links, just let me know in a private message and I'll forward it to you, but it should be easy enough to just go to the website of your favorite ebook provider and do a search on it.

My current reads:
In hard copy: The Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense, by Suzette Haden Elgin.
On the Nook: Gaudy Night, by Dorothy L. Sayers.

Both are old friends.

Margret

Happy Holidays to you Margret Margret also! I hope you enjoy your reading.

I am still reading Circus Pyongyang ...a gig to North Korea by Juha Kirvinen and I have also downloaded onto my nook -
Are The Medjugorje Apparitions Authentic? by Mark Miravalle and Wayne Weible.

Happy reading to all!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! :gift::kneading::evergreen:

Hekitty gave me the ENTIRE "Cats and Curios" series for Christmas! I'm going to finish the book I'm reading, then read "Water for Elephants" that my neighbor lent me, then DIVE IN!
