Hi all,

I've had a few cats over the years but I've always wanted a Maine Coon. The kitty prices are a bit too much but I came across this ten year old lad for an affordable price.
He's super sweet and loving and just doesn't stop talking.
He weighs about 20lbs but he's not fat, he's just big as the breed should be.
I've only had him a few weeks but he is definitely the boss now. He's treated like a prince, no sorry, a king!
This is a wonderful breed and he behaves differently to all the other cats I've had.
I love him to bits.

I'm so glad you found the cat you wanted, and you were willing to give a home to a senior kitty. He's beautiful. Welcome to TCS. :)

Welcome to TCS. In this case we won't see his picture in the "What Breed Is My Cat" forum. This isn't simply a Maine Coon, but a striking, ribbon quality fellow who could hold his own at any CFA or TICA Regional. In fact, in the fourth image - Oliver's "portrait" - I can't see even a single point fault in head conformation, ear set and size, Lynx tips, eye colour and shaping, mascara lining or nose leather, and his structure and size are absolutely outstanding. Good Heavens, but he's simply a gorgeous cat.

Thank you so much for your very kind comments. I'm on a Maine coon forum as well but hardly anyone replies to posts. This forum seems better. Special thanks to 1CatOverTheLine for your very encouraging remarks. There's one thing for certain, I will always have a Maine Coon.
I will post some more pics in the appropriate place but I'm off to work soon. Boo hoo, less time with the big boy.

Hi @mightyboosh, and welcome to the forums!
Oh gosh, Oliver is so cuuuuuuuuuuuute! And he does indeed look like a king in those pictures :lovecat3:
I´m always amazed about the size these cats can reach. Like they said before, he looks like a show cat! I wouldn´t be surprised at all if this big boy was a retired stud in his younger days.

Have fun around here! :wave2:

I mentioned that Oliver talks all the time. He can hold an intelligent conversation and it goes something like this:

Hi Oliver, have you had a hard day again- answer- "meow" ( I had to actually get off the bed for some food)

What's the capital of Azerbaijan -answer- "meow" (Baku)

What is Einstien's famous equation - "meow" (E=MC squared)

See. he's very clever indeed.

All the giant breeds are clever indeed. My Forest Cat - Bob -

is not quite thirty-five pounds of clever conversationalist:

"Hi Bob; would you like a snack?"
Answer: "Meow." ("Certainly I'd like a snack, you idiot.")

"What's the capital of Azerbaijan?"
Answer: "Meow." ("Who cares? I'm a cat; I need a snack.")

"What is Einstein's famous equation?"
Answer: "Meow." ("Are you hard of hearing? I need a snack. Now.")

Wow, he is handsome!

I saw your avatar and thought he might be called The Mighty Boosh at first, which would be a great name for a cat. (I'm a bit of a Noel Fielding fan) Oliver suits him though.

Welcome to The Cat Site.

I am officialy inblove with Oliver, he is just insanely beautiful. I was considering for a long time owning a Maine Coon, but I ended up aquiring a Bengal because they are amazing too. Probably later on, in some years time, I will be able to convince my boyfriend to have a Maine Coon too
More pictures of Oliver Will always be wellcome!

I had a Bengal x but we sadly lost her a few months ago. She somehow got out and was run over by a car. It was heart breaking and both the wife and I will never get over losing our little Poppy.
You will have to nag your boyfriend relentlessly until he caves in. You won't be disappointed.

I lost Alice (bengal x) last summer too because she found an open window downstairs... So I know how you feel:frown:

He's gorgeous !! I would love one as would be like having a dog without having to get a dog if you know what I mean. How are they with other cats though? My gracie a small moggie - would she be terrified? Do you know anything about his past? Who would give up such a lovely cat (or any cat in fact ) without having to
