Happy Hump Day!

Do any of you enjoy watching sports? If so, what kind?

I started to actually say "no" to this because I was thinking rather inside the box, but I do very much enjoy figure skating competitions as well open jumping and dressage equestrian events. I'm not overly fond of steeplechasing, however, as too many horses are severely injured.

Aside from an occasional soccer game or Formula One racing, I don't watch sports. It was different when I lived in the US - I rarely missed NHL games.

:yeah: I'm not into watching more conventional sports either, but I will watch figure skating, gymnastics and equestrian disciplines (usually whilst cringing at the way some of the horses are ridden - I do a mix of classical equetation and natural horsemanship with my girl, and absolutely HATE some of the more barbaric 'conventional' training methods used by some riders :bat:). I will NOT watch any kind of horse racing though - I've owned and known way too many ex-racers and seen first hand the damage that is done...not to mention some of the frankly disgusting 'training methods' used...:angryfire::fuming::bat::soapbox:

When I was younger (14/15), I'd watch quite a bit of the fake wrestling that was on TV, mostly because I would howl with laughter at some of the names/men that would walk into the ring. I enjoy polo and showjumping to an extent, but find most conventional sports to be awfully boring. I do enjoy the Superbowl commercials!!

Oh, and hockey!! I don't get to watch very often, but when I do, I get pretty into it :p

I used to watch a ton of baseball, hockey, some basketball.. but never football..
Considering Boston is a top contender on all fronts, I am a but unusual about the football. I just never got into it.

Currently, I do not watch sports, unless it is a championship game..

When I was younger, before working, I used to practically live at Fenway Park. It was either there or the beach.. both are so close in proximity. Lots of fun memories.

I am really not much into sports. I do occasionally watch figure skating. I also like some of the equestrian events, I too like dressage and I like to watch the cutting horse competitions. I honestly didn't know that horses were able to move the way they do in a cutting competition.

Growing up I lived near Wrigley Field and my dad was an avid baseball fan so it was in my genes. I still like it especially since the Cubs broke their curse last year and 'finally' won the World Series. I also like figure skating because my dad was a speed skater in his youth. But nowadays I follow hockey more since DH is a huge hockey fan.

One of the reasons I love my husband is that he doesn't make me watch sports. Except Track & Field. Which is kind of annoying but hey he gets stuck watching what I love sometimes too. Fortunately it's pretty rare because we haven't had cable in years.

I do enjoy bits of the Olympics; mostly gymnastics, figure skating and swimming/diving. i would consider a reasonably priced paid subscription to allow me to watch the events I want. Especially on demand.

The only other sport I can tolerate with a very small measure of enjoyment is baseball. The men in my family were baseball/hockey/football fans. Mostly baseball and hockey though. The worse of the worst of the worst; Nascar.
Fortunately only my Dad and Step-dad are Nascar fans. Unfortunately my bedroom as a teen backed to the foyer which was open to the living room where every Sunday afternoon I listened to the cars go round and round whether I wanted to or not.

When I'm stressed out, I can put a baseball game on the radio and the sounds of the announcers and of the game calm me down. Isn't that weird!?

My ex was into drag racing including having his own muscle car that he tinkered around with constantly. They don't even go around and around, just in a straight line for a quarter mile.

Yep. My Dad used to drag race and he'd take me to the track a couple times a year maybe. I always hated the noise. Plus it was boring! I joke that my Dad's car is his first child; I'm his 2nd. ;) Things are coming around now because my son likes cars. I even found a Hotwheels version of Dad's car in the right colors and everything. I bought several. One for DS to play with, one for Dad and another to keep in the packaging as a collectible. I'm always on the hunt for a Hotwheels version of my Step-dad's car; but no luck so far. It's always the wrong color or doesn't have the stripes.

I do have to say; they are the reason I like the look of the old muscle cars. I don't want one personally; but they catch my eye. :agree:
