Got a call about kittens under someone's shed. They said momma cat hasn't been there all day and the kittens were screaming their heads of. When we got there they had all but one kitten in a box and boy were this little guys screaming. I set a trap for momma and put the kittens in a kennel next to the trap to try and get momma to come out and into the trap. I waited about 30 minutes but momma was nowhere to be found. The little guys were cold so I loaded all 4 into the car to get them home and warm.
They are set up in my garage because we no longer have any animal free rooms now that my dad is recovering from knee surgery. They are eating wet food mixed in with some KMR very happily. I'm guessing they are 3-4wks old.

So meet the Fairy-Odd kittens

So nice you rescued them! They look very healthy.

Do they have teeth yet? Will they use the litter box?

Is it warm enough in the garage?

Poor mom is probably in heat again.

Yes my garage is warm enough and they did have a heating pad on low in the back corner of their kennel. They have teeth and chewed down on KMR and wet kitten food mixed together. We are looking for another foster as we are at our limit with Matilda's kittens and our bottle foster.

@sunshineclare I messaged our rescue coordinator and haven't herd back yet. But I'm sure any of the foods, KMR, or litter is something we are always in need of. Thank you so much for your kind heart! [emoji]10084[/emoji]

The Fairy-odd parents litter is now with a foster. So glad we were able to get them.

Also have another question can kittens have baby rice cereal? A friend of mine just dropped off tons of it in hopes the kittens could have some.

If you mix a little of the rice cereal with canned food and formula, to thicken it up a bit, that should be fine. I wouldn't use just plain rice cereal though---not really appropriate for little carnivores :D.

Yes! I use it mixed with KMR. It holds the kittens a bitt longer.

I've used it mixed with formula and diluted pate food to wean kittens and puppies for all my life.  Rice is very gentle on the tummy and is the base of most sensitive tummy diets for pets.  As @sarthur2  said, it isn't appropriate alone, but make a good, safe filler to keep little tummies feeling happy.

I'm very sad to post this but Matilda's kittens will be going with the rescue coordinator in two weeks. My real mother has held my springer spaniel over my head for the two years. Well she is now being evicted and told me I have until the 24th to pick up Penny or she will take her to the shelter and the shelter near us is a kill shelter. The only dog free room in our house is my room and we have dog aggressive dogs so it's a must she be kept separate.
This has been one of the hardest decisions Ive ever had to make! But it seems it's all going to work out for the best. Karen will take kittens and Momma for 2wks get Matilda fixed then send her back once she is all healed up and recovered. I will still be 100% involved with the adoption they will just live down the street from me. I'm excited to finally have my dog back but it's breaking my heart to not have the kittens with me until they go off to their new homes. So you'll be seeing tons of pictures and updates because I'm going to eat up every second of the last 2wks I have left with them.

I know you are disappointed and a little angry, but this is not all bad news for you!  You will have your beloved dog back, and the kittens will be in easy visiting distance!  You have done the very best that you can for them, and that's all anyone can ask of you, AND all you can ask of yourself!  We'll be looking for those pics and updates!>

4/5 of the older kittens are eating the mush, Trunchbull and Wilfred love it and are starting to attack me for it when I walk into the room with it. Bruce and Miss Honey have tried it and have eaten a few bites here and there but they definitely aren't inlove yet lol. Lavender won't even go near it she acts like it's the nastiest smelling thing on this earth. If she accidentally steps in it she freaks out and her little paw starts a flinging to get it off! It's pretty darn funny. [emoji]128514[/emoji]
I've been adding rice cereal to Owens night time bottle and it seems to make him more full and less fussy throughout the night. He wants to eat the mush I'm making for the older kittens can I allow him to have some? He also won't let me put him down after his last bottle of the night until I rub his ears and he slips into milk coma. And let me tell you this little boy purrs like crazy. [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

I'll have to get updated pictures of everyone. Owen is 3wks old and Matilda's kittens are 4wks old!
