So cute. My black girl, Lucy, loves mirrors. Almost every night she jumps up on my dresser and gazes into her reflection in the mirror. I'm certain she's thinking, "Oh, look at how beautiful I am."She's still figuring out mirrors...
Thank you. My vet comments on Archie and Lucy's coats as well. Lucy is prone to dandruff though. I always try to brush her on days when I plan to photograph her. Even so, I generally have to retouch some dandruff from her fur.
Lovely lady, Rick! A nice glossy coat, too. My vet always comments about the gloss of Mingo's coat, but I think most short-haired black cats have glossy coats. It must be the color and how light bounces off it.
Rick, Keeker sometimes (rarely) gets a few dander flakes and I just moisten a microfiber cloth with warm water and give him a good rub-down! It removes the dander and loose hair. Then I will follow with a soft brush to get all his fur 'styled' and he ends up looking clean and sleek! Since I have electric heat I wipe/rub him down about once a week and about every two weeks I will add a dab of coconut oil to some warm water in the bathroom sink and moisten the cloth in it before I wipe him down. It helps keep his coat and skin hydrated and adds shine to it.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try the microfiber cloth. I use FURminator shed control wipes once a week or on days when I plan to take pictures. I've tried regular wipes, but my cats HATE those. They tolerate the FURminator brand. They might prefer the microfiber.

I think the trick is to rub up and down and ruff the fur up a bit, instead of just rubbing in the direction the fur naturally goes. That's why I brush him afterward so I can get all the fur going in the right direction before he completely dries.

Thanks! He and I will check it out tomorrowLizcat. Here is something for Onyx. Go to utube and have a look at 'talking cats' one cat named Sylvestor is worth looking at. You should get a chuckle at some of the things that cat 'says'. Regards anneno2
That's so sad. It must be heartbreaking to lose your pets on top of everything else.
Thank you. He really is a beautiful boy. Actually he is still alive as far as I know. I lost my home in 2013 thanks to a medical emergency and the rescue that I adopted him and Polly from were afraid I'd end up homeless so persuaded me to let them take them back. When I got settled into a new place, Sears and Polly had already been adopted. It was actually very upsetting but both cats had great homes from what the rescue told me so I finally decided not to fight it. I like to look at their pictures a lot though and remember them. They were such special babies and I do miss them something awful.
Dont feel bad. You were only trying to do the right thing based on your situation at the time. We cant predict the future!Thank you @Norachan
I've felt so guilty about giving them up that I don't write much about them, but it just broke my heart to see them go. However, they really do have good homes and that is a big comfort. :heart3: :heart3:
