I have been on a journey to be able to feed all 4 of my cats affordably, and preferably the same thing.
The two problem children: a male cat who absolutely needs wet food due to urinary problems, and a girl with food sensitivities (probably chicken-which is in everything )
So, today I thought I hit the jackpot. I picked up a pouch of wet Fancy Feast stuff that had no fillers no grains and no chicken. Plus, at the calorie count given, I wouldn't be spending any more on cat food than I already do. I might even save money!
I brought it home, thinking I had struck gold, but then came the "if it sounds too good to be true" reality. I missed the part that said it was for supplementary feeding. Curses! Foiled again! (Approx 500 calories for a supplement feeding?!?!)
Anyway, I started thinking. Looking at the ingredient lists, there's not much on the supplement list outside of vitamin E. Would it be possible to add other supplements to this to make it complete? I know that taurine would be needed, but what else?
Is this a feasible idea, or should I just find something else.
Currently they are eating canned Friskies turkey pate with extra water added. My biggest concern with it is my girl is still itchy, but not as much as with the other flavors that have higher chicken quantities. It also has brewers rice, but I consider that the least bothersome grain if they have to eat one.
