Aaron was home earlier than expected, so it ended up being leftover pizza from the freezer with a salad. Tonight will be a salad with buffalo chicken.

We had a tortellini chicken bake (bought frozen from the grocery store), fresh buns and strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla frozen yogurt. I didn't like the pasta so I just had a bun and a bit of pie.

Either hot sausage with onions and peppers (Rick will have his in a bun) or chili from the freezer.
If I heat up the chili, I will throw together a pan of Vermont cornbread, too. Vermont cornbread is made with maple syrup.
How much is maple syrup in America?

My GF buys Grade B maple syrup from a store in Vermont; she usually gets it at the Big E (a huge fair in Massachusetts; it's the largest fair in the eastern US, I think. The New England states each have a building at the Big E where they sell items.) She always gets Vermont maple syrup because that's what we like. Then when I visit her in Connecticut in the fall, I get the bottles from her. One quart bottle of Grade B maple syrup, made in Vermont and sold at the Big E, is about $20.00 US money. She gets me two quarts every year...it takes me about a year to go through both bottles.

I really like going to the Big E, too; it's a neat place to visit.

I prefer Grade B because the maple-y taste is stronger and it doesn't bake out when I use it in breads, cookies, cakes, etc. I cannot find Grade B syrup in central PA. Anywhere. We've looked.

Grilled salmon is on our menu tonight. With simple parsleyed potatoes and perhaps some green beans with sautéed red peppers and mushrooms.

We have a big farmers market a little over an hour from here, but it was only about 20 minutes from our old house. They have some booths set up with really good maple syrup. I think I paid about $8 for a small bottle. It's sooo good though. In my fridge right now, I have a bottle of "table syrup" that was like $2 and tastes pretty bad. I can't wait to go to the market again once it's a little warmer. One of the buildings burnt down last year, but they rebuilt it really quickly.

That's about how much it would cost me here but it's expensive. Syrup with the 'taste' of maple is peanuts but I wouldn't want to taste it. So I don't buy it. I don't have e recipe for maple syrup.

I love rhubarb but don't know how to cook it. I don't even know how to stew it. That's when I can get it.
About 35-40 years ago I'd gone home for a holiday and was at my friends house. We were bathing her 2 sons and the older I said 'you're just like my mum. I bet you like rhubarb as well'. So many people don't. I wonder why? Because it's a veggie?

I don't know how to cook it either. My mother in law does though, they have tons of rhubarb in their yard. I love my in laws yard... they have rhubarb, blackberries, apples, pears and 3 HUGE cherry trees.

I had Taco Bell for dinner. It was gross. I didn't even finish 1 taco and had a few nachos and cheese.

@catlover19.
Could you ask her how to stew rhubarb for me?
We had a cooking apple tree in our back garden in England and next door had a blackberry bush growing over our side of the fence. Yum.

Falafel, Hummus, Baba Ganoush, tabouli, and pita bread (and hot sauce!)  from a local takeaway - my favorite, absolutely delish ( with extra tahini sauce on side), to die for!

Not sure about tonight. I'm in the mood for vegetable soup and we do have a container left in the freezer yet. Rick wants split pea and there's a small container of that left in the freezer, too. Maybe soup and salad.

Rick and I went through the freezers last weekend to take stock of what was in them. I made up new lists, too, so I know where we're at and what needs to get used up by summer.

I have been wanting some chicken soup, but we ate all I had in the freezer. I have to buy chicken before I could make that. Maybe we will have a steak on the grill, salad and baked potato. I sounds good right now, but I am still drinking coffee this morning and things can change. :lol3:

I'm so jealous. We don't have any places around here like that. I used to live just around the corner from the most amazing place and I miss it so much.

Tonight, we are having pork schnitzel. I'm not sure what I am making as a side dish yet.
