How cute, best cheese in the world no doubt  :-D   (Hope it wasn't ready licked though - I'm not a human mom and can't get my head around that sort of thing
  )
Nope not already licked. It was just sitting there and she picked it up and put it in my mouth. She tries to share partly ate food sometimes (I don't eat it), it usually goes to the dog. Sometimes she pretends that she's going to share and just as it's reaching your mouth, she pulls it away, shoves it in her mouth and laughs.

Stewball, I sweeten my porridge with normal sugar and a splash of milk. I must admit I made it in the micro that day instead of on the stove, and it came out a bit thicker than normal so I had to add more milk than normal, that was how my dear Mum used to eat hers, Dad always has golden syrup on his. He makes the best porridge ever, on the stove top with just water.
Am currently lying in bed sucking on some liquorice toffee.
Ohhhh golden syrup. I could cry. Can't get it here unless I find s special shop and pay £££'s for it. I'd also make porridge with golden syrup. I also like it with brown sugar but I'm not supposed to have sugar. When I was in hospital they had me on s no sugar diet even though I wasn't there for that. Breakfast, the best meal of the day, was porridge or semolina. Hard boiled egg tomato cucumber bread and butter cream cheese and a milky yoghurt. I made a salad with the egg and veggies and the yoghurt. Had the cheese on my bread. I had to plead for s tiny bit of jam to sweeten my porridge or semolina.
Black tea yuk. Actually I haven't drunk English tea and hardly any tea at all since I was pregnant with my son who will be 43 next week.
Liquorice toffee I moan. Yum yum.
:wavey:

Rick was hungry for something sweet, so he took a pan of apple dumplings from the freezer last night.

Had one for breakfast this morning with my coffee. (I made them back in October, wrapped them well, and  threw them in the freezer...they're still fine.)
No bruises from being thrown into the freezer?
;)
How do you make apple dumplings. Make that how do you make dumplings.

I used to use water to cook the porridge, then sweeten with brown / demerara sugar and pour cold milk on to cool the porridge.  Then I started to experiment and found I like it best, and it tastes naturally sweet and creamy if I cook it in the microwave made half and half water and milk (and for some reason the water has to go in first).  Cook it up for 4 minutes in a really big bowl so it doesn't boil over, and leave it to cool until it is just a good warm temperature - not hot any more! Mmmmmm.  Delish' (sure it would ne just as good done on the stove but I'd have another porridge pan to wash)!

How cute, best cheese in the world no doubt  :-D   (Hope it wasn't ready licked though - I'm not a human mom and can't get my head around that sort of thing :lol3:   )

Spaghetti bolognese with side salad, followed by half a little tart citron and half a little plum frangipani tart.  All lovely as cooked by a friend and not me. :D   Well the first course was, the pud' came from her local deli'.
I'm afraid cat lick doesn't bother me.

Stuffed peppers. I had the vegitarian one. Stuffed artichoke. Jacket potatoes with butter made in the microwave. Actually intended for the micro. Small potatoes in a special bag. Bung the whole lot into the micro for 10-12 minutes and hey presto. Coleslaw salad and a mixed salad.
Daughter made the stuffed veggies. Granddaughter made the coleslaw. Ex did the potatoes and daughter the mixed salad. Son washed up.
I taught my grandchildren how lovely jacket potatoes are with butter. Well only the 2 eldest. Girl 15 boy 14. Cousins.
Nice meal.

Prepare to be jealous. I had spaghetti with butter and parmasan. That's it. After spending all day out and about running errands, driving an hour away to get the kids, visiting my mom, then driving back before getting groceries... done. No energy left to cook an elaborate dinner.

And since BF had been tasked with two things: take the garbage out (requested at 1pm) and clean the kitchen (requested at 5pm), he decided doing the latter would exempt him from doing the former. Apparently me being unimpressed was unfair, so he went out. Best.

My poor LaraLove. Aren't men the pits?
I'm still having trouble with my wrist 6 weeks after falling. I finally went to the doctor and am having xrays next week.
Well for 6 weeks my ex, who shares the apartment but not my bed, has been doing everything. Food. Cooking. Making my bed. Cutting up my food etc. I'll be quite sad when it's all better. Well I trained him well over 45 years.
I live spaghetti with butter and parmesan cheese and garlic sometimes

I think he'd be helpful if I were injured. At least marginally helpful. As it is, I wish he'd go away and stay away. I need a support group for people with crappy partners! Haha. We share an apartment but he's got his own room. I should probably start calling him RM (roommate). I look forward to calling him my ex.

They are a variation of the Revolution Roll recipe by Dr. Atkins.  I used as a basis, a recipe called Improved Revolution Rolls - and just left out the artificial sweetener they used.  Basically it's whipped egg whites  (cream of tartar is used) with a mix of egg yolk and cream cheese baked at a low temp.  They puff up and have a bready texture..allows you to make "sandwichs".  There are many flavor variations, I made up one today (which hubby, who just came home, really liked..it's a keeper).

For my reward meal tonight I had a huge salad of romaine, celery, raw cauliflower, mini sweet bell pepper and scallion, then I made a chicken sub using a boneless skinless chicken breast baked with 1 serving of a cashew cumin sauce I buy, on 1 serving of Udi's gluten-free French baguette.  I also had 1 cup fresh zucchini with 1 serving garlic mint sauce.  Dessert was dark chocolate :)

Mmm. What a yummy meal!

I have been very busy taking care of 2 little feral kitties that I took in a couple days ago (their story is here), so my dinner was a very simple grilled cheese sandwich.

An unconventional breakfast of 1/2 cup no-salt canned green beans with 1 thin slice swiss melted atop, 1 turkey sausage and a cup of black coffee.  Saw a new low weight this am, so I'm happy :)

It might have been an idea to add a tonne of garlic in there, then BF would need that spare room of his when he came back in and would still be keeping his distance tomorrow as well.

That is so so kind of you but no thank you.
I'd only end up eating the golden syrup with a spoon as I did when I was a kid and skinny.
:lol3:
Much as I love liquorice I must decline the most generous offer.
