Star cat.:-)  Is it a kitty health test that your vets offer treats when you're there?   And even more amazing, don't they charge for them?!  I've never had a vet that's done that.  Maybe I should complain to my guys!  Mind you, if Mouse was offered treats as well as cuddles while he was there he might start to like too much and try to go more often.  I can't imagine getting anywhere without some car wailing though, now that is a massive gold star award in my book!

You could dream, but it was at 550 when I got up (at lunch time) today.
I was convinced we'd manage more than this!  I seem to have been babbling forever..... babble babble babble
I know! I would have thought we would have around 800 by now.

Not enough babbling people! Anyone doing anything special for Halloween?

Exactly!  The older I get the more terrified I am of driving in the snow/ice, and also, both of my parents are elderly, and I am so worried that they will slip/fall

on ice this winter

I think if I had learned to drive in it as a teenager I would be less scared of it now.  One experience slipping all around during college was enough for me!  I used to get rides to work when it would snow; if DH couldn't take me in!  I can walk in it fine usually; just shuffling...but losing control of a vehicle is frightening!
Getting ready to watch Bambi with my oldest as the littlest is napping. Wish I could nap too. Teething 1 year olds don't sleep well and keep mommy awake.
I feel for ya!  My son just cut the last of his canines about a month ago. They are still pushing up; but through enough that they aren't an issue anymore.  Same with the molars.  He really hasn't been THAT bad of a teether; but even just whining every so often wakes Mommy up and you know you can't always go right back to sleep!
Heated streets to melt snow and ice would be great. It's not so much snow as black ice that I dread. I commute by train, and we have a couple of stores within walking distance, so I don't worry too much about snow, but hate hate hate having to slip and slide down the hill to the train station in the morning.
Fortunately it's not very hilly here!  A few years ago; when my husband first started his job, I got him these rubber things with little spikes on the bottom that are supposed to help you not slip.  I bought them off QVC.  I don't know if he has used them even once!

Now neighbours, there's a topic!  I've got new ones in the apartment that adjoins my sitting room..... music students.  They're quite nice and polite but one sings and the other one plays yes, you've guessed it, drums.  So far they have toned it down when I've asked and they don't make a huge amount of noise that often.  I just wish I didn't have to ask at all.  Wish I lived in a big detached house  (actually maybe not coz I'd always be hearing noises and thinking it was a big boogieburgler or something).
Oh fun for you!  We have some friends who bought a house with an out-building specifically to turn half into a recording studio and the other half into storage for the husband's mobile recording business.  He's also a drum player.  He did work to help sound proof it of course.  And it was out in the country; but still with neighbors around.  So finally it was all ready and they'd been having friends out to just jam.  Good times from the sound of it.  (We live in another state.)  And then they found out the neighbors could still hear.  Well.  So well, they were sitting outside enjoying the music!
They toned it down after that.  But I wonder; how loud did it have to be for them to hear it like that!?

That was a decent nap that I just had.

Yay for good kitty behavior at the vets! Only one of my cats acts good at the vet.

There's normally some car caterwauling but today was golden.

The vet tries to distract the patientr from the imminent pain of the shot with a treat, but mine never eat them

Your neighbours sound just lovely btw, l must remember to value mine a little more (piano player on one side, lol)

I used to do that.

I'm jealous about the nap Peaches!  I used to nap every day when my DD would nap.  No longer...  She doesn't nap anymore and when she was; she almost always napped at a different time than DS.

I could go for a loooong hot soak in the tub right now. I need a bigger tub.  Or a smaller body I guess.  I think we have the narrowest soaker tub they make!

I wish I could take a nap and unwind in my tub at home, bust alas I'm at school waiting for my next class to start. Why do people call (female) cat owners crazy cat ladies as if its some sort of insult?

We could compete for the smallest tub
My bathroom's so small even tiny people get wedged between the wall and the sides of the bath when they sit on the pan, and the bath is the narrowest shortest other than like a Japanese sunken bath I could get :-(  It's good in some ways as when I sit in the bath leaning back on the sloping end my feat are so neatly wedged at the other end I'll nevder slip down and drown if i inadvertantly fall asleap in there!
Not much chance of that either coz Mouse likes to perch on the slippery edges and periodically goes for a walkabout along the length of the bath- hard to relax when you think your cat's about to fall in.

I hope your fellow schoolies are not calling you a crazy cat lady already!
Ziggy, like all of our kitties, is worthy of endless chatter and adoration and anyone who doesn't agree is not worthy of attention....
After far too many years  I have come to the conclusion  that people who love kitties are the best people.

Oh the crazy cat lady comments...I just smile/laugh. Most of the people that say it to be mean...well, I wouldn't want to be them in their miserable lives. Usually I talk about homemade pet food, which most dog owners are interested in.

Now the cats are bugging me for dinner.

I'm on my own for dinner tonight and I drove through McDonalds. :anon: I got a salad with grilled chicken! I don't go there very often now and every time I go through the drivethru I am  at the calorie counts on the menu! I think if I wasn't planning on ordering a salad I would have been after seeing the calorie counts.

Manicotti would have been yummy :yummy:

I'm trying to put the whole weeble thing out of my mind. :cringe:

Now they've gone to eyeballing me. Guess I'll get up and give them a treat so they'll leave me alone when I get up to work out. They are really hating this dieting business.

Crikey, all day long it was nice and sunny, but now it is clouding up - I am at my sister's house, waiting for her and her family to finish dinner to go for a long walk, but now it looks like rain outside - blecht..

My brain is not in diet mode.  I keep thinking about milk puddings and then I got to thinking about eating milk puddings in hot weather (for those of you lucky enough to get some) and remembered an old recipe I've had since I lived at home.  It's for semolina butterscotch pudding!
It's like semolina made the usual way but then you cool it down,  add home made butterscotch sauce and egg yolk, then fold in whisked egg white I think to make it lighter.  The texture is quite different by the time it's done and it's served as a cold dessert.  Think I might have to go search for the recipe....   Why do I keep thinking about food and why is it always unhealthy?

l'm on hiatus from my diet - l'll leap back onto the bandwagon when l'm back at work on Friday.

Suddenly l have a craving for McDonald's .. now where on earth would l get such a craving???

l'll send my son for some so l can't see the calorie counts as l'm ordering.

I just posted, then hit the submit button, but it did not take!! (but I am not on my own computer).  Butterscotch is really yum, years ago we would to to Dairy Queen, would get the vanilla soft serve cone dipped in that hard crunchy butterscotch shell.. (the hard cherry shell was good too..)
