Good on ya for this suggestion and reason. I had a suit for that reason (not veterinary, personal injury).

I think they're just motion sensor doors. There isn't anything on the floor on either side of the doors that would indicate some sort of weight sensor.

Ours is door/vestibule/door/waiting room. They're moving to a new building soon so I'm not sure what the situation there will be.

Also, all it took was Clyde escaping here at the house one time before I put up a door separating the hallway from the main area in here. They still have plenty of room in here during the day while I'm at work. And I don't worry about him making a run for it when I open the door carrying groceries or whatever.

Bonnie has shown no interest in going outside. She's been in the hall when the door opened and runs away from it. lol

We used to have a parking lot gate at our building that used underground weight sensors on the interior side of the lot -- the weight of a car pulling up within a foot or so of it would trigger the gate to open up. I thought it might be the same sort of idea at that vet in your photo.

I can ask the vet's secretary to inquire about the doors just out of curiosity. It's a 24 hour vet hospital so the doors have to automatically open when people rush their pets in regardless of a weight.
