I googled to see how many 5 letter words there are. It said it depends on the dictionary you consult; but the lower number was 5,350 (I'm not putting a lot of time into this search. ) So I guess there is a 1 in 5,350 chance of getting it right in the first try?

I'm still pretty tickled when I get it in 3.

I think everyone gets the same word. DD and I did the first day we played but since then we've been really careful not to spill the beans on it.

Yeah, I think the same word for everybody is part of the appeal. A sense of community, avoiding spoilers, etc.

Almost the same for me except mine was the second word. I always start with the same two. I got a bit concerned when the first word was all gray.
