I was thinking a OPEN one would be better.  Those enclosed ones seem tight unless your cat is very tiny, or desperate.

I agree that many cats hate them and they can be a hassle.
 

BTW compared to a litter maid...litterobot is highly priced.  Could get a few decent cat trees for that cost
