My neighbor's cat recently gave birth to 6 kittens (her first time has baby), and they are around 3 and half week old. The kittens started to walk around their box since this morning (they were always in box before).
When I went there in the evening, my neighbor discribed the mom picked up the yellow one a while ago, unusually the kitten start to cry like it was in pain. Before that all kittens walked like crazy and mom has to always pick them back from "dangerous places". It feels like the mom was punishing the yellow one cuz after the crying of yellow one, all his siblings calmed down and took a nap.
After like an hour later when neighbor and I were talking in the living room, we heard the same cry from the yellow, again. It is absolutely different cry from "I'm hungry", or "I'm stucked in here mom", it is more like the tail been steped on. And there's the mom again, picking yellow at neck and running out to us, we were suprised and asked "what happend??" then mom running inside with kitten, we followed inside and mom put yellow near my neighbor, then looked at us and meowed like there's an emergency. We got confused, all kittens were there, why does she always pick up the same kitten? In a way that the little one might in pain??? Does she want to get rid of him??? She then lies back to their box, we put yellow back to her, she seems allright.
We get so confused and worried :-( Since my neighbor has a part time job, she can't stay at home all day watching them. Is the mom going to hurt the baby? Why does she pick up the same one? Does that because she's a new mom? Or the yellow been bug her too much? Or the yellow always fighting? Yellow is not the biggest, but he is definitely more likely to crying than his other siblings... Did the mom get impatient with kittens? They havn't try kitten food yet so they still rely on mom's milk.
Thanks everyone for your reply... Sorry I can't discribe it very well in English.
