Why are male cats more affectionate than female cats?

I think it depends on the cat and the person he or she is interacting with. Sophie is most affectionate with me, followed by Lilith and then Henry. With DD, Henry is most affectionate, followed by Lilith and then Sophie. When we met Henry at the shelter, he curled up on DD's feet and started nibbling her toes.
  Sophie is my feline soul mate. Lilith is a diva and just does what she wants. I adore all 3.
