Chynna loved to dig, I would have been standing there for 10 minutes watching her shovel the whole box of litter out onto the floor. She was what I call an "edger" (liked to poo and pee right at the side of the box).
My Rainbow Kitty Cindy was the same way. The morning after we brought her home from the shelter, I opened the bathroom door expecting to see her, but what I saw was litter everywhere (and no cat, since she was hiding in the bathtub). We used to call the area around the litter box "the beach." I wasn't always happy about having to clean up all that litter up, but I would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant I could have her back with me.
