I'm sorry for the lack of replies. Unfortunately I did not see your post so would be happy to reply.

I like your suggestion of Jinx.
How about these for a black cat - Felix, Panther, Grimm, Blackjack, Zorro or Jet.

Do you have a picture of him? What about Jingles? I do like Jinx.

But I always think that, given some time, cats will tell you what they want to be called. That's happened to us so many times. It works out.

ETA: I found your other post and saw his picture. Oh, man, he is adorable! I love his eyes. Such a cute little guy!

What's his personality like?
If he's quiet, sweet, and cuddly, something like Jinx doesn't work for me, but if he's wild and funny and into stuff, and routinely causing things to fall over/break/getting himself in minor kitten sized jams, something like Jinx would be perfect!

Jinkx to me is a favorite drag queen and a comic book character and Loki is the God of mischief, so if his personality leans towards that, I like both equally. To me, Ozzy screams "rockstar" although I'm sure in his heyday he was the Prince of Darkness so does that suit him?

Two suggestions: Nimbus (it means dark cloud) and I'm a Potter fan.
Bagheera (the panther in Jungle Book)

Bagheera is pretty cool.
We named one of ours after Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy cat was crazy as all get out with a kind heart deep under it all.
Sometimes their personalities name them and we only narrow it down.

Naming Mizu was kinda like that. My oldest and I had "Nala" in mind but my youngest son (who NEVER feels strongly about things) put his foot down and actually stopped talking to me for a few hours because he was so upset...insisted on naming her Mizu. Little did we know how water focused she was. Not just fountain happy and sink happy, she will sit under the faucet, let the water drip on her, shake it out like a puppy...naming her after water was perfect.
