I LOVE black cats. When they have that shiny sheen to their coat they are just stunning. And I've had 3 black cats in my life who have all had the most wonderful personalities.
There's just something in light cats with black pawpads and 'eyeliners'. Extra points from green or blue eye color. I'm also most into cats with cobby body build.
I have 1 of each that I gravitate towards: a solid black cat, a solid gray cat, and a brown tabby (I like all the tabby patterns though). Lola is our second black cat, and I suspect I will always have a black cat in the house.
My current kitties are are a brown tabby and an orange tabby. I've always wanted a solid black or solid white cat. I guess I go more by personality than color, but solid gray cats remind me of my beloved first cat.
Brown tabby and white - I have two of them, though I didn't pick them out. I also really like grey and white bicolors and black (fur doesn't show on dark clothing!
).
I never pick my cats, though. They always find their way to me so coat color doesn't really matter.
I have to say that I love ALL kitties, no matter what color they are.
But, I do have favorite colors. I love tabbies with white paws, white chins and bellies. I have two, but I didn't pick either for that reason. I took Monster cuz he needed a mommy, and Mittens was not mine, but given to me when my boss wanted to rehome her. It was a coincidence that she has almost the same patterns and colorings as Monster.
I like calicos and torties. My preference for calicos came from my stepmoms cat Rosie, who was a calico.. I loved her to death, she was so sweet. I love white cats too. But honestly, its hard to pick just one favorite.
I do have to say that I prefer medium/long haired kitties. And while I love my lil girl, I prefer boys. That wouldn't stop me from adopting a short haired female who needed a loving home though.
I love solid black or solid white and absolutely adore calico, especially long-haired cats. I currently have one of each, though the white one is short-haired.
I do find myself collecting orange tabbies though.
