I'm curious to know what sleeping arrangements most people have with their cats.
When I got Bud, the initial plan was to have him sleep on his plush kitteh bed. That lasted all of one day -- by night time he was on the bed with me, front paws around my arm like it was a stuffed animal. Then during the "Sleep Time Is For Biting Feet!" stage, I tried to lock him out of the bedroom a few times (cruel, I know) but he would cry and cry and cry outside the door and I always relented.
Now, more than a year and a half later, Bud lets me settle into bed, then jumps up and snuggles in the "valley" between my legs on top of the blanket. He stays like that all night. If I need to adjust, I literally have to slide my legs out, turn over, and carefully slide back in so as not to disturb the lump of fur pinning my blanket to the bed.
On especially restless nights, the enduring mystery is how I wake up and realize I'm relegated to 1/3 of the bed while His Grace takes up the other 2/3, or how a 9-pound cat can steal an entire blanket. Also, unless I "hide" my glasses, he'll swat them off the table and I'm guaranteed to spend 10 minutes the next morning fumbling around like a blind man.
And of course my bed is one of his primary napping spots throughout the day. If I go into the bedroom and he deigns to open his eyes, he'll look at me like, "Yes, I've claimed your bed. What of it, human? Go get me a Temptations snack!"
So how about your kitty sleeping arrangements?
