Thank you! You said it so much better than I did and more diplomatically,as well.Originally Posted by GoldenKitty45
A non-pedigree cat should not be bred. If your reasons for letting her have kittens are because she's sweet, pretty, the greatest cat you've owned; and you think you will get another "just like her" - then think again. You won't. Each kitten is an individual.
If you are breeding her cause "all females need to have one litter" - think again. Female cats are not people, they don't need to experience motherhood before being spayed.
What happens if you breed her, and she has problems delivering kittens? What if something goes very wrong and she dies - are you willing and able to hand feed baby kittens every 2 hrs?
If you really love your little female, please call your vet and have her spayed now. You will have a much happier and healthy cat and won't be one of the irresponsible people who's cats are contributing to the shelter. If you want another cat "just like her" - check out the shelters in your area. I"m sure you will find a companion.
That's wonderful! It sounds like you are trying to be a good cat parentOriginally Posted by xsqweak16x
thank you every one for your thoughts i do think i was thinking irresponsible and i see what you ean about the shelters i will say one thing though that i am not an irresponsible owner. At the minute i can not afford my cat to be spayed so i am not letting her out the house ever! well until i can afford it
I didn't think to mention this. Here in Oregon, we have a few programs that will help with spaying/neutering. It isn't free but does cut the cost. I imagine the UK would have something similar.Originally Posted by ScamperFarms
You may want to see if there are any low cost spay and neutere programs in your area if funds are an issue.
That's awesome! I love Cat's Protection, they are at all the TICA Shows and they have such great policiesOriginally Posted by urbantigers
Cats Protection have recently changed their policy about neutering vouchers - you no longer need to prove you are on benefits, they can give them to anyone. So give your local branch of CP a ring and ask them for vouchers. Then you can get your girl spayed sooner rather than later
