I am extremely fond of tuxies and am used to them having the black mask and some form of white on their muzzle or forehead like Oscar in my profile photo. Recently two different sets of fosters have come my way that seem to be a different sort of cat. They have a very definite pattern of white only on their chin, bibs, belly, and feet. They have a different personality than the tuxies I’ve known and are extremely playful. Often they have longer hair. Is there a name for this kind of cat?

Yes, that adorable kitten is a tuxedo (grade 4 white spotting). Her full description would be black and white bicolor (in the mitted tuxedo pattern) Domestic Longhair.

This article gives some great info about the various patterns produced by the white spotting gene: BICOLOURS - TUXEDO AND MAGPIE CATS
