I think tonight is going to be turkey kielbasa and sauerkraut.
Aaron came home early last night because of the snow and I gave him the option of this or a slice of pizza with salad again and he wanted that. I think the kielbasa and sauerkraut will be for tonight.

I thought I'd interrupt this thread to give you a handy hint...

Well, now you can bet I'm going to try that one! Thanks! I hate separating eggs.

Veggie burgers tonight. Or leftover lasagna....not sure which.

THAT is the coolest thing that I have seen in a long time! That will save me so much time when separating 18 eggs for a batch of homemade raw food. Thank you!!!

Now that is a real trick. Has anyone tried it for real.
I'll update when I do!

Tonight is going to be simple but easy and yummy: 15 bean Cajun soup in the Crock Pot. May poach some egg whites leftover from the egg separator trick.

Do let us know how that goes! I'll have to remember it for next time. I would still do it one at a time in the bowl if using the whites for meringue though in case of yolk leak.

Well, I tried it but I couldn't get it to work. I think the neck of the water bottle was too small...the yolks went right for it but stopped at the lip of the bottle.

The first bottle I tried it with had a wide neck and didn't taper in close enough, so it picked it up but dropped it right back again.

It worked like a dream with the second bottle I tried... the right size neck for the yolk then a good taper outwards to hold it.

So it's a case of getting the bottle neck to yolk ratio right

I'd better write what's for dinner or I'll get a thread hijacked warning!

It looks like it will have to be an omelette. For me.  And for the cats...

I was going to make a Shepherds Pie, but changed my mind. Haven't had steak in awhile so I pulled that out of the freezer. I'm running late so it's quick to sear it up, and throw a couple potatoes in the microwave and heat some peas and pearl onions. Gotta get to it!

We probably won't have much for dinner tonight. Rick is taking me out to lunch today.

I made some vichyssoise which turned out sooo yummy! Ahh, hot (I know you're supposed to eat it cold) soup and fresh bread on a cold winter's night was perfect. And for dessert we had freshly baked peanut butter cookies.

I normally hate Mcd's but a big mac sounds really really good at moment.  I had a 1/2 a huge frozen pizza from Aldi.

We had crock-pot honey tenderloin, potatoes, carrots, and corn.

Crock-Pot beef stew and homemade bread (hopefully, it won't end up on the floor, courtesy of the kitties, like last time!). I have enough stew to freeze for leftovers. It's been so cold here that we're both craving soups and stews! And it's snowing right now, so we won't go out to our Saturday night dinner as we normally do.  Hot stew, good bread and some cocoa and  popcorn by the fireplace sounds delightful tonight...
