What to expect when she's expecting???

No more yelling, just little cries from the baby and purrs from momma. I'm thinking it's just a break until more come but I really can't see, I've mixed some KMR to try to lure her out and am plugging the heating pad in now

She's not nursing but she's grooming the kitten but I'm not sure if she's cut the cord??? Not really sure what to do right now

Leave her be for now until she is completely done delivering. She may want to stay under the bed for hours. It's okay. Cats love under the bed!

She will chew the cord.

Thank you! Should I be concerned about the kitten? It's rooting around but she's no longer paying it much attention, how soon do they need to eat after birth??

Mom may be getting ready to have another baby. Kittens can wait while mom delivers. Moms will usually nurse in between if there's time. Wait and see for now.

She's yelling again so I'm thinking another is on it's way

It's hard to be certain, but I think they're nursing, they got quiet and are all huddled up to her side

Do you have any suggestions for telling them apart for weighing and such? She and the father are both black so all the kittens look the same. I've heard nail polish on their little nails but I'm not sure if that's safe

Usually nail polish on the tip of the tail. I would not pull them out for weighing yet though.

Oh no I don't plan on it, I'm gonna try to let her bring them out on her own time. She's yelling again, so I'm thinking a third is on it's way!

And then there were 3! She's cleaning her third kitten now!

They certainly are! She just gave birth to a fourth! Poor little mama must be exhausted!

Bless her heart. Fingers crossed that 4 is it. She will be very tired. Slide the dish of KMR near her under the bed. It will give her a boost.

I put it under there earlier but she doesn't seem to have any interest in it, just in grooming herself and her kittens
