I am finally out of other options and am ready to start my cat on Prozac. My vet just wrote the prescription for once a day. Has anyone else received more specific instructions about what time of day? Or has anyone tried it at different times and found a time that worked best?

It probably doesn't matter what time as long as you dose at roughly the same time every day so the doses are evenly spread apart. So if you dose in the morning with breakfast you want to keep doing that and not give one dose in the evening because you forgot. You might want to call the vet and ask about if time of day matters or not and what to do if you miss a dose.

I actually dug around trying to find the answer to this, to no availe. It just isn't being discussed anywhere online that I could find. However, some cats on Prozac do not sleep deeply, so I'd think that taking it in the AM, when the house is more active, might be better.
