What temps can cats handle with food?

I warm up natural balance left over from previous day and I am quite careful to fan it down if the finger test shows it feels abit warm. I'm curious if I am being abit over zealous with cooling it down.

I usually just add about a tablespoon of very warm water to heat up food that has been in the fridge. If I use the microwave I tend to overheat.

ETA: They like the extra "gravy" too.

I too use only water to warm leftovers.
