What percentage of cats like cantaloupe?

I'm mildly curious as to how many cats like cantaloupe. I've known for years that some of my cats like it, but I was reminded tonight when I had some and one of them walked right up on the table after it. I'm wondering if it's a genetic thing because I have had a group of cats that are all descended from the same TNR colony matriarch, and it's cats from this group who seem to like it.

I diced some up for my cat and set him a place at the table where he snarfed it down. I offered some to my other cat who's not related to the first cat, and he just sniffed at it and walked away.

I don't give it to them often, but the ones that like it seem to go nuts for it.

I happened to have some cantaloupe in the fridge, and after reading this post, I decided to give it a try.

I gave Willy a small piece, and he licked it over and over and over... but the few times he picked it up, he'd chew it once or twice and then spit it out. But he kept licking it nonetheless.
